Okay, being that I am from western PA, I must say that Yuengling is one of the most respected breweries around here (even though it is nowhere near the quality of most small breweries). I will enjoy a Yuengling Lager or Black and Tan every once in awhile. I was talked into trying the Yuengling Oktoberfest as I heard it was "a great brew" and I must say, I found it to be just awful. I purchased a case simply as a casual type beer and I ended up giving 3/4 of it to my neighbor. There is just something wrong about an Oktoberfest with the strong iron notes that come from a Yuengling brew. Thankfully, I picked up a sampler of Troegs and Terrapin which had some tastey brews like Troegs Pale Ale and Hop Back or Terrapin Hopsecutioner and Hop Karma Brown IPA

Had my brewmaster friend make this for grouse camp next week. Can't wait to dig into it.

My brewmaster friend tells me it is a basic Amber Ale. Probably around 5% APV made with amber malt extract, 1 oz Willamette Hops and 1 oz Kent Golding Hops. Whatever the heck that means?

I asked for something drinkable all night for at Grouse Camp and this is what he gave me. I won't taste it till I get up there.

I'll be popping some bottles of my first home brew tomorrow. I made the Noble Trappist Ale from Midwest. Looking forward to it.

Thanks. One issue however is the weather. Normally by this time of year we can just let the keg out and it stays cold during GC. It is supposed to be warm as heck next week. So I am brining a dorm fridge and running it with the generator on and off to try and keep it cold. Sucks.
