I know nothing at all about beer, but I know Redds shouldn't even be considered a beer!

    For tonight with dinner:

New Belgium Berliner Weisse with yuzu juice

    It's ok. Needs more tartness.

No kiddin, me too haha. It'd be nice to have someone let me know right when a certain product arrives or holds a bottle or two for me... Instead I have to follow a few stores on facebook and twitter and try to get hard to find things before it's all picked over.

Just start talking to the guys at your local beer store. Most of the time they will tell you when they are gettting stuff, or they might have a mailing list you can sign up for.

I skipped all that and made friends with the distributor  So I know which stores are getting what, how much, and when.

My beer guy cuts 36 packs in half and sells them for $3 cheaper than a regular 18pack.

What is a good pumpkin beer that can be bought pretty much anywhere? I dont really have a clue on what would be good or crap. The pumpkin sound good though so I want to try one out.

There's also a microbrewery called Destihl there. I've never been to the Champaign one, but I went to the one in Bloomington. They should have some good seasonal beer. When I went in Bloomington I had a pretty good pumpkin porter.

I also see that there is a Friar Tuck in Savoy, IL. There is a Friar Tuck in Springfield that I went to fairly often and they should have a huge selection of beer. Anytime I went I would spend like 45 min in the store trying to decide what I wanted to get because there's so much to choose from.

I also found what looks to be a pretty good bar to go to called The Blind Pig Co.

Yea I recommend this as well along with Schlafly. I was looking and I think that the Friar Tuck in Savoy may carry Pumking. I don't know how far away it is from you Oly, but you can always call and ask if they have either one of them before you make the trip and I'm sure they'd be able to let you know.

It's not far at all from my apartment so it's not a big deal going to check them out.

They've been doing this for years. They also ring 6 packs out of loose cases or 30 packs to save money. I'm fortunate to be in the adult beverage industry as a wine supplier so I know all the right people to talk to when looking for something in particular. My distributor deals with a lot of beer brands as well as my wine brands and bartering is a nice thing. Also, my customers in the retail business sell me cases at cost.
