    Stupid question about sanatizing, once you sanatize you don't need to clean off the sanitizer with preboiled water do you? A sanatized spoon can be used for stirring wort without being rinsed off right?

    Boiling water no, but make sure you have a no rinse sanitizer- it will say on the box. If your sanitizer requires rinsing then either chuck it or use it and then buy some starsan or other no rinse. It's much more convenient. Incidentally if it does require rinsing you can use regular cold water

    Also one more thing you will need that wasn't in your kit was a thermometer.

    I'm having a local beer right now from NoDa brewing out of Charlotte called Hop Drop and Roll. It's a pretty good IPA.

    After work on friday i stopped in my local beer store to check on any new arrivals and sure enough he had a entire case of Dogfish punkin waiting for me. Saving this till colder weather. I should be getting another case or 2.

    Saturday we took our daughter to D.C to check out some of the museums. For lunch we stopped at the Chop house brewery. The food was fantastic, and the beer was great... I had the house sampler which was all of there in house brewed beers. 9 total the 1 not listed on the menu was a hefeweizen that tasted like banana bubble gum( not that good )

    Then during dinner at the Matchbox ( Great Pizza ). I had a DC brau American Pale Ale. Was a nice mild PA

    Punkin hasn't made its way down to NC yet. I've been kinda keeping an eye out for it because I'd like to try as least one bottle. I'm also awaiting Southern Tier's Warlock Imperial Pumpkin Stout which should hopefully be showing up down here in the next week or so.
