I've heard a lot about that one but have never had it. My favorite pumpkin beers that I've had are southern tier pumking, schlafly pumpkin ale, and I had a really good special release pumpkin stout from schlafly last fall. Southern tier is releasing a pumpkin stout in September I'd really like to try too.

The best pumpkin beer I've had is the St. Arnold Pumpkinator.

We should do a beer exchange. You're in Illinois...can you get 3 Floyds stuff?

I have some 3-Floyds right now. Definitely making another pilgrimage out there this Fall. Hook, I will touch base and see what they have that you want at the time.

I just got all warm and fuzzy inside seeing the words Pumpking. This weekend is going to be the first cool one in a while, 70's during the day, 40's in the evening. I'm heading upstate for some trout fishing and shooting. No particularly good beers, probably Miller Lites with a few craft brews around the fire pit. My goal now it to hunt down some Pumpking.

One of my local beer stores near work already had around a dozen pumpkin brews on hand

I already grabbed the Sam's seasonal pachalge which has their pumpkin in it, so I figured it was about time for them to start popping up. Last year was the first time I had Pumpking, definitely the best I've had.

I haven't updated my residence on here yet but right now I'm living in North Carolina in Chapel Hill for at least the next two years as my gf is going to grad school here. I lived in a tiny town in central IL so even when I go home on the holidays I'd have to drive up by Chicago to get any of it. If there are any NC brews you might be interested in let me know and maybe we could work something out.

NC is doing pretty well beerwise right now though. Sierra Nevada and New Belgium are both working on getting breweries opened here and there's a newer brewery called NoDa that has been tearing it up here ever since they opened. I'm still learning a lot about the area right now because I've only been here for a month.

I'll be turning 21 in 5 days. Plan on having me a Batch 19 (my aunt works for a liqour store and says it's really good). My dad is more of a whiskey or vodka guy so I will be on my own with the bear testing.

    I wouldn't waste your 21st b-day beer on a Batch 19...

Surely your aunt's liquor store has something better than that.

3 hours until I head upstate, the clock at my desk gets slower and slower.

I'm having my Heavenly Feijoa Tripel right now. It's pretty tasty. I like it a lot more than the cascara quad.

I haven't read through the entire thread but has anyone ever tried any Abita brewed beers? It's a beer line out of Abita Springs, LA, I had it for the first time earlier this year when I was on business in New Orleans and it was great. I'm still in summer mode so I've been drinking the less manly Shock Top and Summer Shandy but I am about ready to switch over to winter lagers. I find myself following seasonal craft beers in line with the seasons of the year more and more and its fun finding new ones each year.
