Nope. Easily the worst beer of the night.

The best was the Russian River Supplication. It scores a 100/100 of BeerAdvocate. It deserves that lofty rating. Both the Crooked Staves were fantastic, as well as the Saison Rue.

The Panil is one of like 5 breweries in the world that still uses live wild yeast, but I just felt it lacked a bit of the complexity as the others.

Dogfish needs to stick to IPA's and stouts. Every IPA they make is fantastic. World wide and Chickory are great stouts . if you live near 1 of the pubs they have. They make some great concoctions some times and some are belh.

One of my buddies at the tasting just came back from Denver. He brought the Russian River, Crooked Stave and Panil back with him. I wish I had more...

Hook did I miss a post about the home brew? I wanted to hear how the whole process went for you, and of course how the final product came out.

The process was pretty easy. We just went easy with our first one and used a kit. Just followed the instructions. We plan on stepping it up with our next brew.

The beer came out ok. Somewhat over carbonated, which can help a bad beer. It was a basic red ale, so the style itself was pretty boring, but I was out voted on which beer to brew first. I wanted to brew a saison.

    Nice beers fellas.
I had a Southern Tier Creme Brulee stout over the weekend. I need to make an ice cream float out of that stuff.

So did I. It got poured out after a few sips. It smelled like Yankee Candle.

Maybe some vanilla ice cream will help it out, but that beer is just not for me to drink.

Is it normal that I'm already coutning down the days until the Oktoberfest season? Starts around mid-September up here. Drinking litre's of 'bier' in the nice Northeast fall is about as perfect as it gets for me.
