last night was rough since my A/C decided to die, so I drank the closest thing I drink to bourbon these days

St. Arnold Bishops Barrel #3 Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout

this is a beer that is only released to a select number of bars in Texas and LA, but since I'm awesome, I was able to acquire 4 bottles to take home :)

I have had a couple of bourbon-barrel aged craft brews that I really liked. They were readily available on a local basis. I am not awesome so I have to be a little more mundane than you Hook.

    Hooker,

I have a limited release Oak Barrel Aged Barley wine style ale fron Flying dog brewery. 1 per person. Only 300 bottles released. 20$ each i was able to get 2. its larger then 24oz. I think i was about to get 2.5 glasses out. Its a large wine style bottle

Interested in a trade? Its a corked bottle and has been stored upside down so the cork stays wet.

Sure, I might be interested in that.

What you wanting in return? My current most highly regarded beer in my beer cabinet is probably a Jester King Boxer's Revenge. It's a sour wild ale. Ever had a sour? It is a fantastic beer, but I understand sours are not for everyone. If not the JK, then I have a buddy that is going to Denver in a few weeks, and he is going to bring back some good stuff from that area. I can take requests if you have some.

This weekends line up is potent... Starting tonight off with the Famous and Best IPA on earth, The Dogfish head 120min IPA (ageable) Coming in at a stagering 24%+ alc. This one has been sitting for around 2 years now. Its from a case i purchased back in july of 2010. Next is the Thomas Creek Extreme IPA coming in at 12.5% alc. First time seeing this in stores, can't wait to try it out. Then last but not least is the John Henery 3 lick spicker Ale at 9.2% alc which is a Ale aged in oak burbon wood chips. This one is mighty tasty - Finishes with almost a chocalate flavor.

I do not, but I guess it would be kinda cool if I did. Especially some of the more rare beers that I acquire.

Today was bottling day! We are not using secondary fermentation. We are going straight from primary to bottling for our carbonation. Bottle conditioning...kinda.

and you can't bottle without enjoying a few great beers, right?

That is to funny that you put that up on the site. I just got back from Vermont/PA yesterday. We toured the Harpoon Brewery, Long Trail Brewery, and the Yuengling Brewery. I like the Yuengling tour the best due to the mountain cave. It was really cool. Here is a picture do you know who this fella is? We all know who I am! LOL

How is this on page 6? Slackers.

This weekend started with my first homebrew! Not too shabby. A bit over carbonated, but the flavor was there. Just a standard red ale, so nothing too exciting.

Some others that I enjoyed over the weekend.

I was pouring samples over the weekend and I *killed it* with the beer float I poured! Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout with vanilla bean ice-cream. Yum!
