A favorite of mine. I had it on tap in Colorado and could not even try anything else that night.

I actually like Blind Pig more than Pliny.

And even though the RR IPAs are quickly becoming "outdated" since the new style of IPA are these juicy, turbid, hop bombs, I still quite enjoy them as change of pace.

Went on a mini-vacation last weekend to Grand Rapids, MI to check out all of the new breweries popping up out there. First night we went to Founders and Hopcat in downtown. Started off with a "Nitro Pale Ale" from founders and ended with "'15 Shipwrecked Porter" from Hopcat. The next day we hit up Brewery Vivant, which is an old funeral home, Perrin Brewery and Long Road Distillers.
At brewery Vivant I had a "Ale from beyond the Veil" at 10.3% this beer was very tasty and surprisingly easy to drink. At Perrin I had "98 Problems IPA" which is one of my regular drinks. The last stop was new to me, "Long Road Distillery" which specialized in Whiskeys and Bourbons, I had there house "White Rye Whiskey" to keep it simple, I'm not a huge whiskey fan.

So many breweries in Grand Rapids and so little time!

    Successor Imperial Porter

This is just ok ...it would have been a good beer like 10 years ago, buy today's standards it's just average.

Looks like I'm taking a road trip to Denver area this weekend to pick up a puppy. Where should I hit up Saturday night while I'm in the area?

Sunday fun day. First beer is weissenheimer Hefeweizen.

    What should I try next.

What do I say about this that hasn't been said? Pliny spent a long time being considered the beer in the country until recently. It's still excellent ! I haven't had it in at least two years. Throw back Sunday I guess. Thank you Mike!!

    Where did you end up?

I would have just went to The Source, which is a market of sorts with really good food vendors and Crooked Stave taproom.

Some people don't care for all the "flavor" and texture and all that, I like simple beer no shame in that.

Well we didn't even end up going to any breweries. We stayed in Parker which is about an hour South of Denver. We didn't get there til about 8pm and were already pretty shot from the 12 hour drive. We just went to a pub close the the hotel that had pretty mediocre options for beer. We did end up with two gorgeous GWP pups though. Here's a pic of my new female and 8 y/o.

Not sure if this as has been posted here but I saw on Facebook today. It's a map of the country and you can select your favorite brewery and it lists all the states where distribution is available.

    SeekABrew US Distribution Map

Looks like I'm headed to Wisconsin for some dogfish head :)
