Enjoying 'Mean Old Tom" by Maine Beer Company. The best stout (aged on vanilla beans) I've ever had.

Mean Old Tom is a pretty decent stout. I drank it in a dive of pub, who's signature drink was called " The Bangor *****"...yes in all places Bangor Maine.

Hooker, that Transatlantique with cherries would interst me. Is it just a hint of cherry or is it a sweet brew? You have access to a lot of great looking stuff. I have to drive for hours to try that kind of variety. Definitely a down side to living in Mayberry, USA. But the picture show is only $3. lol

Two of these this morning...Founders Kentucky Breakfast stout. This is excellent.... I asked my beer guy how much he had and he said just a case....I said give me the whole case and he brings me out two bottles...,so I am like WFT? Says he has to ration it as it in too high a demand. D Bag.

Was not able to do much drinking during my 2 weeks absence, but I did enjoy a few:

Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge (Sour Ale) - So tart and sour. I love this beer.

Logsdon Farmhouse Ales Seizoen Bretta - French saison with brett. Nice clean, crisp finish with that little brett funk to it. One of my favorites.

I also delved into the world of homebrewing for the first time. First batch is a typical red ale. We will see how this turns out.

This weekend picked up a few good brews for our annual trout fishing camp. Evil Twins Yin, Evil Twins Yang, Chimay Grand Reserve(Blue), Chimay Premiere (red), 2x La Fin Du Monde, 2xTripel Karmeliet, 2x Saison Rue. Needless to say, it was a very good weekend capped off w/ my dad catching a 7.5lb brown.

This was last nights selection. First time I have tried it and I enjoyed it a lot. I will repeat the process this evening. It's New Belgium Brewing from Fort Collins, CO. Nice IPA. 20130602_194912.jpg
