Nice Brandon. We plan on making a trip to Asheville soon. Maybe next years Anniversary trip.

Got to try habanero sculpin tonight on tap. Stuff is hot! It came in a 10oz pour and it was more than enough. I also got a six pack of the newest enjoy by.

After a year hiatus, finally going to brew some beer tonight. An American Pale Ale recipe I found online. I'm pretty excited, can't wait until the kids go to bed :)

Having a Surly Abrasive right now, I have to say - there is no beer that I love like this one. Sadly they are gone soon until next December. I don't get why such a great beer is just a seasonal.

I had a Surly Furious on tap the other evening and really liked it. Glad they came to Iowa. Another nice addition to the beer fridge! We have a small group getting together Friday night for a tasting. Sounds like we will have quite an assortment of goodies. I have a couple of bottles of Boulevard Saison Brett that I have aged for a couple of years that may get opened. Should be a fun night for sure.

Furious and Abrasive are very similar beers, I'm sure there's a couple in my beer fridge right now since that's my substitute for abrasive once they quit selling it for the year.

Never tried the Boulevard saison, which is weird that I've never seen it here since I have had other Boulevard beers.

I love it fresh and my beer guy told me that it takes on entirely different character with age. So I staggered a few bottles a few months apart to try them and see. Should be fun. I'm probably not refined enough to tell the difference. lol

Looking forward to tonight for sure. We have some DF 120, Heady Topper, Resin, and on and on. It could get drunk out tonight.

You're doing a vertical of Boulevard saison brett? Nice. I have a 2013 and 2014 I'm aging right now. The brett really comes out with a few years of age.

Yep. I kind of lost track of what all I have, but for a while I was doing well to pick up one or two at a time and put the purchased date on the label. I know I have a couple that are over two years old and a few that are staggered from there. Glad to hear it may have been a good move. Also glad to know I am doing a "vertical". A new term for a rookie that will heighten my level of beer snobbery. lol

Last weekend, my wife and I got together with another couple that are great friends and also enjoy craft brews. We had a pretty crazy lineup. In fact, too many to begin to sample them all. The aged Saison Brett was extremely good. We opened the 2013 and a 2015 and sampled side by side. There was really no comparison. The 2013 was darker in color and just amazing in smoothness and taste. I will definitely continue to age them. Here was the lineup.

Love the buffalo sweat oatmeal stout! It's a regular in my beer fridge.
