I've only had two of those but my guess... Heady, gitm, your local ipa, pliny

that is how I thought it would go as well, since GITM was only a week old and Heady was almost 3 months old, Ghost won on this occasion. It was just so much "brighter".

I was proud that I was able to identify each by blind tasting correctly though. Heady and Ghost were the hardest to differentiate. Which is a testament to just how good Heady is since it was competing with a 1 week old Ghost.

You realized how malty Pliny is when drinking it next to these types of DIPAs.

I'm jealous, I keep hearing about heady and pliny but have never tried either. Can't get them around here.

Here's an interesting story big in the news around here right now. I've honestly never heard of the small NC brewery until now. Seems kinda like Bell's is being a little petty and a bit of a "bully". Places all around NC are pulling their beer from taps/shelves in support of Innovation Brewing, and Bell's facebook page is blowing up from craft beer drinkers.

Small Sylva brewery in big trademark dispute

yeah I read about that earlier this week

seems like Bells never trademarked their slogan, so now they are asking Innovation Brewing to not trademark the name of their own brewery? It's not Innovation's fault that Bells never trademarked their slogan.

seems like a pretty simple solution is for Innovation to trademark their name, and to agree that they will not send Bells a cease and desist letter asking them to stop using their slogan, which I'm sure is Bells worry.

but still, this is Bells fault for not trademarking their slogan to begin with

Lately I've been enjoying Harpoons IPA and Sam Adams Rebel IPA West coast style. I haven't tried the sam adams east coast style because it has 2% less alcohol. lol

    Nice.

Me and the wife are heading to Miami in June, and I can't wait to drink some fresh Jai Alai.

Also pumped to hit up Funky Buddha and J. Wakefield.

Headed to Asheville tomorrow morning for the weekend. There's a beer release at Wicked Weed that I think I mentioned previously that I'm heading over for. I plan on hitting up both of their facilities, Green Man Brewery, Burial Beer Co, and possibly Asheville Brewing Co and Hi-Wire brewing. I wish I was going to be there for more than just a day or so... there's almost too many places to hit up in just a Sat-Sun trip.

Got a bit lazy with my updates lol. After my flight we went and checked into our hotel and then came back to the brewery area and hit up Burial Brewing where I got their skillet donut stout

We then went to Green Man brewing where I got a blueberry berlineweisse. After that we went across the street and went to Twin Leaf brewing and I got their juicy fruit IPA. Asheville is an awesome city with so much to do all in walking distance. I recommend that if you ever get a chance to vacation there that you jump at the opportunity. I could've used another couple days there as things felt kinda rushed.
