So all my beer nerd friends saw Bud's pathetic shot at craft beer last night right? And the fact that they just bought a craft brewery (Elysian) that makes a Pumpkin Peach Ale just makes it even more pathetic.

Nice. I'm still waiting for OB to get here. I'm hoping that they will start once their new North Carolina brewery opens.

Greaaaaat my bro is a sale rep for BUD in MI,he hates all the new crap they have come out with in the last few years, for the most part it's a hard sell and no one wants any of it..

 

Yea not really sure the point of the commercial AB put out bashing craft beer.... seems like a waste of money that won't make them any progress. Got quite a rise out of the craft beer community, which if anything makes them stronger haha. I've been slacking quite a bit lately in posted the beers I've been drinking. I haven't had anything super rare lately by any means... mostly just a lot of drafts at my beer shop on Saturdays/Sundays or repeat beers that I've had several times before. Prairie has made its way to NC this past week. Right now we only have Birra, Prairie Ale, standard, and funky gold amarillo but it's better than nothing. Another cool new development that I found out about this past weekend is that Jester King is going to be hitting our are this week. I'm sure we will only be getting their staple shelf beers as well, but still pretty cool. The prairie flew off the shelves and I'm sure JK will be the same so I'm hoping distro is consistent.

 

First up was a fresh HDR canned 2/2 and then a troegs nugget nectar. The nugget nectar didn't live up to the hype in my opinion.

 

After 6 long months, Surly FINALLY released abrasive!

Sorry I let the family down... I'm getting lazy in my old age. Westbrook brewing just started distributing here a couple weeks ago so I grabbed the beers they offer. The IPA is really good, the rye pale is was just so-so. I have one more to try from them still. Also had the latest Stone Enjoy By. Had Dragon's milk reserve with raspberries about a week ago and it was a little disappointing. Also had the WW Divergence about a week ago as well. It was really good and pretty unique being a barrel-aged sour coffee porter.

 

None for me this weekend, too soon after the surgery. Drink a few for me, I'll catch up later!

What I've been drinking recently thanks to Jeff

 

I'm heading over to Wicked Weed a month from today for a limited brewery only release of a beer called Red Angel that's a barrel aged red raspberry sour. They had the pre-sale tickets today for 150 cases and it sold out in about 2 minutes haha. Luckily I was able to get a case bought. I'm hoping that while over there I'll get to check out a few other breweries as Asheville is full of them. I'll get to check out their new Funkatorium where they make all of their sour beers now and will also probably go to the main brewpub that I've already been to. I think we might be moving back to the midwest once the fiance is done with grad school depending on where she gets a job so I've got limited time left with access to all of this awesome beer.

I went to my beer shop today and had a couple flights including a couple ballast point IPA's, a couple saisons , and a couple sours. Also had these the last cpl days.

 

Drinking this currently. Pretty good... A little sweeter than I prefer. I was hoping the Belgian aspect was a little more prevalent.

 

Surprisingly adequate.
