So I just infused fresh raspberries into Hottenroth with a french press. Came out pretty legit. Love the color.

    - crush the raspberries (I used 6 oz) and place into french press
    - add about 4 - 6 oz of beer (I would use either a berliner weisse or gose)
    - let sit for about an hour while cap the rest of the beer in the fridge to save carbonation
    - press, then mix raspberry beer concentrate with the rest of the beer
    - enjoy

    it came out awesome

That sounds awesome!!! I've never ever thought of trying something like that, thanks for sharing!

I foresee myself trying this and some other combos as well....just off the top of my head...taking a mediocre stout like maybe a Guinness....and let it sit on some coffee beans and whiskey chips or something...

I'll post the results of any experimentations I try out

Picked up a 750 ml of Surly Eight today, anxious to try it out but at $24 a bottle I may stash it away for a rainy day.

Every year surly releases a new beer for their anniversary, this year for their eighth, it was an oak barrel aged barley wine.

Next is a Sour also from the left coast....says its an autumn sour with a hint of pumpkin aged in wine barrels....

Well it's starts out super, think really typical sour that bites you back a little ...then it flattens out and it taste like a mouth full of Cabernet, not bad until the finish and it falls flat ...like young Cabernet, more wine-ish then beer. Nice beers trial! I love drakes and almanac! I sampled quite a few of their beers when I was in NoCal and they were all delicious.

Have any of yall ever gone to an "America On Tap" Beer festival? There's one coming to Portland, Maine on January 24th. There seems to be a few good breweries on the list, but not all that I'd hoped for. I'm curious what the atmosphere is like at one of these events.

Oh man what a day, worthy burger was legit. Lots of locally sourced meats, cheeses, breads and veggies. We had truffle fries, burgers, and an appetizer plate with pickled Brussels sprouts/radishes/cauliflower.

The beer list was even better. I tried hill farmstead double citra, single citra, society & solitude #2, and Edward. from the bottle list we had Allagash farm to face peach sour. Very hard to come by, but very delicious. It's the first sour of theirs I've felt was worth the price.
