Well, I've returned home safe and buzzzzzzzin! Worthy kitchen was a good recommendation!

Tried some awesome beer! Lawson's sip o' sunshine did not disappoint, one of the best I've ever had! Certainly in the realm of heady topper and hopulence. It further solidified for me just how far behind the Pliny the elder label has fallen.

Also tried six point guerrilla warfare, smuttynose wine barrel aged tripel, zero gravity cone head, and beanery brewing company Costa Rican IPA.

Lawson's stole the show obviously, I had seconds on it. Dank like heady, juicy, tons of tropical fruit, and very very drinkable. Great beer!

Smuttynose, although considered kind of main stream even when I left here 6 years ago is starting to catch up. The wine barrel tripel was excellent. It had aspects of a good barleywine mixed with a sour, mixed with an oak barrel, really a great brew!

Sixpiont nailed an American porter with guerrilla warfare. Tons of hops, lots of roasted malt backbone. Could have passed for a black IPA IMO.

Zero gravity cone head was great in the nose, but I think I had some pallet burnout after drinking two glasses of Lawson's. I'd like to try it first next time.

The beanery brewing company beer was different. It looked like an IPA, smelled like an IPA, but the aftertaste lingered with roasted coffee. Really a unique beer that I enjoyed a lot.

Unfortunately they didn't have anything from hill farmstead on tap right now. Hopefully I'll encounter some next time

We paired the beer alongside some truffle fries and chicken nachos. Killer food options here, all locally sourced. I think I've found my new hangout while on assignment here.

I'm trying to hold off on buying or sampling any Allagash brews for right now. When I head to Portland in a few weeks I'm going to visit the brewery and do some tasting. I took a $22 bath on that bottle of confluence I bought last time I was here and don't plan on buying anymore bottles that expensive until I know how good they are.

I've heard great things on interlude, but unfortunately they didn't have it on tap

When u spend almost six hours in line, you're bound to do a lil shopping...thankfully this store was awesome and I grabbed some goodies while waiting for the heady truck to arrive. It was supposed to get there at 1:00, but it broke down near Burlington, so it was delayed until after 4 pm. The limit was 4-4 packs. It's usually a case, but with the holidays they announced a stricter limit...anyways, while I was waiting, bent hill brewing company, the newest registered microbrewery in Vermont was doing a tasting. That made the wait better and they had some great beers! I picked up a maple imperial stout, a SMASH simcoe hopped IPA, and a coconut porter. All were 4+ star beers IMO. Also got two more kiwi risings from jacks abbey, it's and all New Zealand hopped IPL, and their hopstitution extra pale lager. Then, out of no where, I spot some prairie beers on the shelf. I was in shock! I'm in a tiny rural town in the puckerbrush of Vermont and there's prairie Christmas bomb staring me in the face. Had to buy it. If any of you are ever up this way the store is called beverage Barron in barre, VT. Very legitimate selection.

Not quite the beer geek as you guys but I do follow this thread pretty much daily. I was never a fan of fruit tastes in beer but I'm starting to develop a taste for fruity IPA's like this one

Also anxiously awaiting for my beer store to get some Surly Abrasive Ale (has a mango taste to it). It's a seasonal that is released in December.

Surly abrasive is ranked as one of the best double IPAs in the country, definitely post your thoughts on it here when you get some.

I had it last winter, quite a few actually. I can tell why it is rated so high because it is by far the best DIPA I've ever had, actually it's my favorite of any type of beer, I don't understand why it's only a seasonal.

Local brew from New Ulm MN.

"Schells Chimney Sweep is inspired by the rich dark lagers of upper Franconia. Black in color with a rich roasty maltiness, firm hop bitterness, and subtle underlying smokiness."

Prairie Christmas bomb...not as good as regular bomb, but still pretty freakin terrific. I'm going to get more of these for sure. Lots of chocolate and coffee. Enjoyable with family and Christmas Eve celebrations.
