Things got hairy last night for me, I won't post all the beers, but I will say that this was freaking amazing. Blew Pliny (which was the next beer) out of the water.

It's amazing to me how the IPA game has changed. I first tasted Pliny 4 years ago while over looking the shores of Lake Tahoe surrounded by snow capped peaks and glass calm glacial waters. It was a nearly transcendental beer nerding experience. At that time it was the best beer I'd ever drank and didn't think beer could get any better.

IMO Pliny has been surpassed by numerous other brews. It's still a great beer, but I feel like it's living off past popularity at this point.

Went to a local pub/steakhouse here in Lebanon, NH near dartmouth medical center where my wife and I are working...it is called jesse's, the tap list was OK, but I did try one gem on the list.

Berkshire brewing company dean's beans coffeehouse porter. This was like a mix between a coffee porter and a milk stout. Very delicious!

More expensive than planned trip to my beer shop. HDR canned today, coco Loco porter that they just started canning, divergence from WW which is a sour coffee porter aged in Bourbon barrels, and two rye triples one aged in red wine barrels and one in chardonnay barrels.

I completely agree. Pliny was the first DIPA and it blew peoples minds. I get that. It was the first and people love it, but as of today, its very overrated IMO (as in its not a top 5 beer in the world). I still like it and cherish when I'm able to drink some though.

Monday evening will be round #1 of beer nerding for me. My wife and I will be headed to Worcester, MA to check out the newly opened taproom of wormtown brewery! I'm so pumped! Be hoppy and hopulence from them are both in my top 5 IPA varietals along with HD&R and heady topper.

This is delicious!!! Just the right amount of blueberry on the nose and pallet to know its there, but not overpowering in any way. It's a very bright, crisp, and sour beer.

I'm not sure how a Berliner weisse ages, but I want to set some of these back

Dogfish head sah-tea. The description is weird...but honestly, I enjoyed this a lot. Especially as it gets warmer. It's got a really nice spice character and nose. One of the more unique beers I've ever had.

You guys have taken this to a whole new level. I am not worthy. But, here is a sampling of my weekend festivities.

Well guys...I visited wormtown brewery today, things got sloppy but I drank some amazing beers!!! The brewery storefront is connected to restaurant called peppercorn bar and grille. We ate, we drank, and we conquered!!!

The tap list was EPIC!!! On tap I had wormtown hopulence, be hoppy, sweet tats, and wintah brown. On their guest tap list they had a keg of bourbon county brand stout that I also tried ($10 a glass...steep) but ridiculously delicious!

Hopulence is one of the few beers I'd place on the same level as heady topper. The nose smells like a glass of mango and pineapple juice, not overly bitter, just an excellent and smooth drinking hop bomb with amazing aromatics.

On this trip I was visiting a lifelong friend and we also did some bottle sharing before the dinner reservations. The star of that show was wormtown "norm". It's an imperial stout aged on cocoa and coconut. Amazing brew with huge depth of flavor! It was one heck of a beer nerding night! He also surprised me with a bottle of jacks abbey "kiwi rising" and a 4 pack 2014 BCBS.

As we were leaving the peppercorn we wanted to buy some bottles and they'd sold out of everything...but, after making small talk with our waitress she decided to bring the manager to our table so we could meet him as well. He informed us of a freshly bottled case of hopulence bombers that just came off the line that we could have first dibs on. Limit was two per person, so between my wife and I, we were able to procure 4 bombers. He also threw in some glassware and t-shirt.

Haha yessir! Great beer makes this transition phase so much better! If the deer and duck hunting up here didn't suck I'd have a hard time leaving!

They do have some good bear hunting tho, and that is an upside, but not enough to make me forget about the heartland!
