Weekend beer line up

I actually saw that one when I bought this and the "seemingly" knowledgeable beer need working the store recommended it to me over the interlude. But, everyone has their own pallet and hence why we have many different beers to choose from.

The beer was in no way bad, but the price tag was a hindrance on enjoyment. It's basically a dry hopped farmhouse that's fermented in the secondary with Brett. I can think of a lot of other farmhouse brews with a price tag that's way less than half of this and are probably better. I.e. Birra from prairie, tank 7 from boulevard, and saison Brett from boulevard to name a couple

 

Bummer. The Interlude was aged in wine barrels which gave it a bit more complexity and barrel character. Definitely a pricey brewery for their aged options. I had heard amazing things about their Coolship series though... especially the Coolship Red.

 

Hardywood should be hitting the stores this week Brandon. Should have your package out by Wednesday if they don't deliver to late at the store.

 

I'm headed up to maine tomorrow and am gonna keep my eye out for one of those for ya. I hear great things on their barrel/aged beers, so I'm gonna give them a second chance. If I find some goodies I'll let you know.

Thanks Dave and Andrew! It's been quite an adventure the last few weeks traveling and tasting some great beers. Unfortunately it's time to get back to reality tomorrow and begin filling up the bank accounts again. If you guys ever travel out this way I definitely recommend maine beer company. Neat and cozy tasting room and obviously some killer brews. I got to try a taproom only brew today called bartenders brunch. It's an imperial coffee maple stout. I was afraid it'd be too sweet but it was loaded with coffee and roasted malts. Well balanced and warming on a dreary New England day.

 

Haven't had this one in a long time. One of my favs from DFH

Picked these up on my way home from work.

 

Wicked Weed is having a bottle release on Halloween weekend that I'm trying to convince myself to go to. It sucks that it's about 3.5 hrs away. It's a Bourbon Barrel Wild Imperial Stout that comes in at 15%, right at the NC cap. The only way that I'll go is if I end up getting one of the 200 presale tickets as there is no way I'm driving all that way without guarantee of getting bottles.

8 hours later on a "3" hour flight from Baltimore to KC I find myself in Omaha on account of severe thunderstorms and being low on fuel after circling over KC for over an hour. I just called out of work and it's time to hydrate. Chances of us taking off anytime soon, pilot says 1-2 hours....I wish I had more bourbon
