My GF *****es when a I buy a 20$ bottle of beer. I could only imagine if I bought a 1000$ bottle... I guess I would have to leave her.

I tried to play the "it would be an investment" card on my wife, but then she just said "no, you'll just get drunk with your buddies and pop it open on some random Tuesday night"

I would never spend that much on a beer haha. The most I've ever spent on one beer was like $25 on Tart of Darkness.

I forgot about Cascade... the Kriek I bought was $30. I wish I would've gotten the Apricot instead.

It was okay... nothing too outstanding. I haven't had many of New Glarus' offerings but have a Raspberry Tart that I'll be receiving on Friday that I'm excited about. They have a pretty good fruit/sour progran there.

So me and some buddies just entered a homebrew competition. Our local brewery is giving everyone the same wort, and we have to brew our own beer from that. We are thinking raspberry gose...maybe. Or some type of saison.

I don't know. We have no shot at winning, I'm just excited that we will get to try all the other homebrews at the final tasting/judging.

I would not suggest you start with the Raspberry tart if you are new to sours. Its pretty intense.

I don't know what you can get in your area, but if you are curious about sours, I'd suggest looking for berliner weisse or gose styles, as they are generally less intense than true lambics or wild ales.

What craft beers have you haf that you've enjoyed so far Oly? Any particular styles you like? That would give us a better basis to make recommendations.

I've had a couple dogfish head 90 minute before. That's all I've really tried so I can't compare it to anything. I like blue moon but I'm pretty sure that's not a craft beer. So I just need to pick some up and figure out what I like. Then I'll start asking more questions.

If they are giving you the wort, then the type of beer has already been established. did they give you the recipe that used to make that wort?

My florida beer guy just blew up my porch. Got a couple Good Gourd, a Huna, a Marshal Zhukov, a Good Gourd Almighty, Jester King Provenance with lemon/lime, and a Funky Buddha Blueberry Cobbler. The JK and Funky Buddha were extras.
