It didn't at all! We've got tastings at 14 different vineyards and reservations for 12 dinners. Not one of them or the bed and breakfasts we're staying at we're affected. Typical news media making pandemonium out of a small isolated incident. Yes it was a legit 6.0 quake, but the damage after speaking to folks living and running businesses there it was no where near as bad as the news made it out to be.

Bottled on 8/23/14, consumed on 8/30/14....I think that's the freshest pliny I've gotten my hands on. It was EXCELLENT!

No beer last night, but had some amazing food and wine pairings. Also, some pretty spectacular ambiance. The view is from the top of soda canyon looking out of the stags leap appellation of napa valley. These caves were something to be seen. 20,000 square feet of full on crushing, fermenting, aging, and bottling. The pictures cannot capture how amazing it was! And the smell of fermenting grapes in a cave is something to be exierienced. It was one of the best dining adventures my wife and I have been on

This has become one of my favorites. FFF, Robert the Bruce. Scottish Ale. I love whiskey and bourbon, but some beers go a little overboard with the bite. This one has a nice smooth finish with plenty of flavor and is so easy to drink.

I have never had Old Chub. I only found a 6 pack of this while out in Indy last weekend visiting my son. I will try to have him bring some back at Thanksgiving and would gladly trade with you. But I drank three of them while out there and two since we got back already. The last one is calling my name! Sorry man.

Oscar blues makes Old chub. It is a very good scotch ale. They also make a nitro version of it too. Which is like yohoo for adults.

Service was horrendous, there was an hour wait for a table, food was decent, and the beers were incredible!!! Definitely a Mecca spot for beer-knerdery! I did my best to tear it up. I got drunk, I was happy, and enjoyed every minute! I started with sours: consecration, sanctification, temptation, and supplication. No beatification until November, sorry hooker.

I Then moved to hops: pliny the elder, blind pig, row 2-hill 56, dribble belt, and aud blonde. I'll add that I've had pliny the elder numerous times, but none of my previous tastes compare to having it on tap at the brewery. I haven't had heady yet, but I'll say that pliny on tap is the best DIPA I've ever had hands down.

I also came home with a few goodies!

No pics, but I'm feeling a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale within the next few days.

Carp, I am so freaking jealous. Some day I will make that pilgrimage. My wife and I have been looking into booking a cycling tour of wine country.
