It is one of their shelf beers that you can find at any beer store in Texas for $12.

 

Hello markup!!!! Well played by me then! Thanks for the info hook, you're a suds wizard. Any other labels from them you'd recommend? I've got friends in Texas from Amarillo down to Houston, and I'd like to get my hands on some jester king.

 

It is difficult to find their good stuff outside of the brewery now that the distribution laws in Texas changed. You can still find Boxer's Revenge and Das Wunderkind in beer stores, and I would highly recommend them. But if you want their limited release stuff, you will have to go to the brewery. I don't know if they are even making Funk Metal anymore, which would be a shame because it was amazing.

I plan on making a trip to the brewery soon for a guys weekend.

Thanks for the package hooker. With the farmhouse IPA I don't know if it was overcarbed or if it had a seal issue but at least everything else made it alright.

A couple goodies from a trade I did with a buddy from Houston




Also had a Russian river redemption that I never drank in Cali and went from refrigerated at the bottle shop to room temp on the way home to Kansas. Not sure how it affected the flavor. It was still decent.

 

Cracked open the pliny tonight. It had a surprisingly strong malt presence at the start that throws me off a bit. Still a good beer but I definitely prefer Heady.

I'm not going to jinx myself like I did with the Cali trip....but, I will be in Maine and NH and VT in June. I may venture by Maine brewing company, alchemist and hill farmstead....maybe I'll be able to grab a brew or two...tentative fingers crossed maybe...
