Taken Monday morning in West Michigan. What's left of the beard is 10 inches, spurs 1.5 inches. I wish I knew the real length of the beard. This guy must have been dragging his chest for weeks to rub that much beard off. Neck and chest feathers were mostly missing, his wings were a mess so I'm figuring he was well over 5+ years old. I should have weighed him. The breast meat alone was 8 lbs but didn't get the full bird weight. Came in directly from the roost across a field to my decoy.
