Seriously dude? You actually put that thing on your head? I'm from WI and I wouldn't even use that thing for an ash tray! :D
Isaiah, Im the biggest Favre fan you'll ever find from Ohio... Hes one of the GOAT, At this moment, he is still in the upper 2/3 of QB's, i expect around 2800-3000 yards and 15-18 TD's this year...whether or not he throws alot of picks we will see...but he doesnt need to throw it any more then 20-25 times a game. But back in 95, 96, 97, 98...he was THE best quarterback in the game. Kinda like Brady is now. Of course you know all of this anyways :D
Havnt been to Lambeau...i will someday I saw Favre in 07' at Detroit, where he completed a Packers record 22 straight. I also have tickets to Browns/Packers on October 25th :D ps...i had last minute tickets to Vikings/Browns this weekend but didnt have time to make it up
The major thing I picked up from Week 1 is that the Eagles defense is CRAZY good this year. They have the best secondary in the game, right up there with the best secondary I have ever watched. I have to admit that I am a bit worried as my Cowboys have to face them twice this season. NFC East is going to set the stage again this year as the toughest division in the NFL.... Dallas's offense looks good... defense got off to a slow start but I expect them to pick it up and really perform this season. Philly's defense is just crazy good, the questions about how the defense would run without Jim Johnson are gone... the offense looks great as long as McNabb's injury doesn't affect him over the course of the season. NY's defense looks great, having Osi back makes that D-Line the best in the league, offense looks good, running game is set but I seriously question the recievers when the game is on their hands. Washington is a talented team that should perform better (and I expect them to), the offense wasn't good and it seems as though Jason Campbell is rattled from not having anybody supporting him. He is a talented QB and has alot of potential, its sad that nobody in the organization see's that. The defense looked okay, but they are very talented and I expect them to pick up their play!
Cowboys looked pretty good week 1. We'll learn a lot about them this sunday against the Giants. Not sure why Marion Barber doesn't touch the ball more though. The dude is a beast. Anyway.... as was said it's good to see a clean locker room and Romo spreading the ball wherever he wants to instead of forcing it to TO.
hmmmmm.... Charles Woodson 36 INTs, 7 Tds, 5 Pro Bowls, 12 years as a pro Al Harris 20 INTs, 3 Tds, 2 Pro Bowls, 12 years as a pro Tramon Williams 7 INTs, 3rd season as a pro Nick Collins 12 INTs, 3 TDs, Pro Bowl, 5th season as a pro Atari Bigby 6 INTs, 5 seasons as a pro 81 career interceptions, 13 TD's and 8 Pro Bowls out of our top 5 DB's. That my friend, is the best in the league The Eagles secondary is damn good though :D
In regards to the Bear game. I was very surprised by the physical nature of the Chicago-Green Bay game. Usually these 2 teams just meet up and tend to toss and slap a little.. but on Sunday they were actually hitting and punching. Good to see from the NFC North finally.. you usually have to watch a NFC East game to get that kind of attitude. It will be fun to see if these teams will continue that for the remainder of the year. And just an FYI.. the Packers didn't really look that good either. If I was a fan of them I'd be pissed we didn't win by 30.
-Polamalu is out, but it could be WAY worse (did you see how his leg bent?). -Polamalu is THE best SS in the game (didn't we already know) -Roethlisberger is becoming very adept at 2 minute drives -McKelvin had a quiet ride home to Buffalo last night, lol! -NFC north will be fun... -Serena Williams has not only the body of a man, but the temper of one as well...oh wait that's not the NFL...lol
Caleb... 2009 Season.. Eagles Interceptions Asante Samuel... 1 interception Sheldon Brown... 2 interceptions Akeem Jordan... 1 interception Joselio Hanson... 1 interception Packers Interceptions... None As of the end of week 1... Packers Pass Defense is ranked 23rd Eagles is ranked 2nd. Eagles let up 83 yards passing and the Pack let up 266 yards.....
True dat. NFC East is still the most dominate division in the NFC.. has been for years. But I'm saddened BM.. by the Eagles loss of linebacker Bradley.. who was quickly becoming a rising star but injured before the year even began. J. Johnsons loss kinda stinks too.. I missed seeing the old man pace the sidelines. He was a blitzing genius.. LOVED his defenses.. and this one is the most talented one he ever put together. But Eagles do have to go through the Giants.. who in their own right have another Johnson blitz-krieg D.. coached of course by a once Eagle coordinator under Jim himself. I look forward to this divisions games.. their always so physical.
I hear ya Duke.... I am a diehard Cowboys fan but there is no denying the Eagles D is great. Loosing Steward Bradley stinks but the Eagles always seem to be able to plug guys into the holes and make it work. Besides Asante Samuel that defense doesn't have a true "superstar" but they are impressive everytime they hit the field. The Eagles..Giants...and Cowboys divisional games are going to be great this year. Osi Umenyiora vs. DeMarcus Ware vs. Trent Cole is gonna be something to see!
Don't count the bears out just yet. Losing Urlacher sucks but I think we will get our ducsk in a row on offense and outscore some of our opponents. GO BEARS!!!
Ken just hit the nail on the head, Delhomme Sucksss, he has one of the best weapons in the NFL, and two great running backs, and he cant get out of a game without throwing 4 interceptions?? The panthers need someone new. Darren Sproles is freakin awesome, and the Chargers are a much better team than they showed. Brees is the number one QB in the NFL right now, and rightly so, judging by the ridiculous numbers he put up Sunday. Brady looks scared in the pocket, and granted he still led a comeback, the Bills blew that game themselves. Only thing I like about Dallas: Jason Witten Favre will have a great year with a running back like AP to back him up and take off some pressure.
Scared in the pocket...It amazes me that Brady constantly stays 2nd or 3rd on everyones list. He is ICE at all times, and if not for a lucky grab on 4th and a 100, he has 4 rings...3 aint bad though. Brees is a SUPER QB, but both his backs are hurt and he puts it up 60 times a game. That is why the numbers are gaudy, but the wins and loses, not so much. I am a Falcons fan, so I get to see him once a year in person, he throws a BEAUTIFUL ball. Sproles just replaced LT if you ask me, man did LT age ALOT in 2 years and now they cannot get anything for him. And lastly I concur, Delhomme sucks, most of his yards come from 1 bomb to Smith, and 2 or 3 swing passes that they break open a game. Now that he does not get Deangelo Hall 2 times a year, he looses 1000 yards a season...which is equal to the number of yards Steve Smith got on D Hall in both our conference games with him when his sorry butt was in the A. On soapbox, D Hall getting tore up all day is a beautiful thing, all that talent and his head is buried up his...weell anyway he is not in Atlanta anymore so all is good, even if our corners are bad.
Just the truth.... none of the Pack's secondary stats from previous years matter at all in the 2009 season. Teams aren't given credit points for past accomplishments.... the Eagles secondary performed better (much better) than the Packers secondary this week. After week two that might change... might not... all that matters is what has happened this season, and so far this season the Eagles secondary is the best overall.
