Mine is a .44 Caliper Fletcher, with Primos all over it. Sara's is the older version of the Tru-Fire Striker, 3 finger release. It has a smaller trigger button than the Stalker does. I have a picture posted in the WANTED forum. I think the biggest difference was that with my rest's trigger to be comfortable, I had to over draw so much than my shoulder's strength was breaking down and I didn't have a solid anchor point.
Well I shot my what I was going to consider my "official" round back earlier in the week. However, I wanted to take advantage of the warmer weather today and shot again. Question is in terms of rules/ethics. My earlier round this week had a higher total score, but a lower X count. Today, I was a little lower but with a much higher X count. I don't care which one I have to submit, but I would like clarification on this as to which one I should submit (the one I shot first or today's round)? I'm not here to cheat or anything, I'm just in it for the experience, so I don't care which one I have to submit, just let me know.
I think I got a few things ironed out. I was having problems with torqueing my bow. Everytime I would go down in the basement to shoot I would be grouping at a different spot. In talking with buckeye and a couple of adjustments to my grip and draw stop I am grouping much more consistantly. I was feeling confident enough to shoot my first round this morning. I had one flyer that I got caught creeping on, ended up an 8. Other than that all 9's and 10's, but damn is that x small!.:d Strength is finally coming back to be able to put a bunch of shots together without getting fatiqued too. Hopefully the scores will improve with more practice.
Good shooting so far, guys. Saw the scores, and they look good. I'm not posting my scores until Matt makes a call on what he wants from me, but I'm pretty happy with both scores.
Today was my first time shooting that style target and for score. I felt like I didn't shoot that well. For all I know, that could be the best score I'll post. It was fun though and nice to shoot outside again.
No pratice round for me.... I did shoot a bit over the last two days getting ready for my league round today though. It went OK...
Well I spent about a hour playing with some new fat shafts that Deb gave me. They're way lighter than my 500's so they were hitting a lot higher. I've also been hitting a tad to the left so I started screwing around with my sights. Well after a bunch of shots, I find out I can't shoot those CXL-2's in the techno hunt range.... so I was back to the 500's. After all that I shot 5 sucky rounds. Then I shot techno hunt, took a break and shot the last 5 rounds. I did somewhat better in the latter set. I'm not sure if it was because I rested a bit or because I went ahead and switched all my nocks over to firenocks (practice nocks with weights). Anyhow, my total score was only 266. One whole point more than my practice round last week. I did see about four shots that would have scored higher with a bigger shaft... but I need more help than that. Next week I may try swapping my top pin, which is yellow, with my red center pin. That yellow on yellow is tough on my old eyes. I'm not quite ready to give up yet.
This was the first vegas round I have shot in a long time. I shoot in a NFAA spot league at our club once a week, and when I saw this league, I thought it sounded like a lot of fun. It was different shooting at yellow instead of white. Sure like shooting 3 arrows at a time instead of 5. Good shooting to everyone.
For future reference, I honestly would post whatever score you want. Anyone else has the ability to do the same. No way we can police it anyhow.........so do what your conscience tells you is the right thing.
I did. I posted the lower score...the other was a 292 9x. I'm hoping the higher X-count doesn't make as much of a difference on the score, so I wanted to choose the lower one to be fair.
