A very good read on this subject is "The Satanic Gases" by Patrick J. Michaels and Robert C. Balling published in 2000. I heard Patrick speak about this topic in Charlottesville, VA in the early 2,000's and it cleared up a lot of the misinformation that is out there in very plain language that a layman like myself could understand. I would recommend this to anyone that has an interest in the topic. A scientific approach to the data and a statistical interpretation of the data with clear conclusions that make a lot of sense. In the 70's we were heading into the next ice age, the 80's and 90's we will be devastated by rising sea levels, etc. Now within the last 15 years we have no discernable temperature difference so when we have a severe storm it must be due to Climate Change not global warming or the next ice age. Talk about emotions, we are being played by our never ending fascination with sensationalism.

I'm Old enough to remember when then President Carter come on the tube to warn us of the eminent "Global Cooling" that was taking place and how much colder in world be by the year 2000. Our teachers and media were doing the same thing and today and blaming mankind and capitalism. Scared the hell out of us.

What a terrible post. Where do you think he got whatever degree he's got in the first place? Probably in one of your so called liberal universities. I'm surprised you believe a word he says.

Seems pretty arrogant to think humans can alter the weather considering water vapor is a green house gas, throw in some forest fires and a few volcanos going off and it dwarfs what humans produce. Shame on Al Gore the biggest private electricity user in TN

It has been a long road of brain washing the lemmings. People are so misinformed about being green and carbon foot print BS. Recycling many products we feel so good about take more energy and have a higher environmental impact that producing virgin materials. I challenge anyone to show me a recycling program that does not require funding, vs a product that is produced and is self sustaining meaning the process can generate enough revenue to pay for it's production

There is and always will be some big impending disaster for power hungry buttwipes to try to take advantage of. Climate change is a reality as the only thing constant in the universe is change. Is that climate change caused by human activity, I find the prospect laughable considering the landmass of the planet and the population of that landmass.

Climate change is a fanciful story that's interesting to think about but a lot like a Zombie movie, just doesn't stand up to reality. Dead tissue is impossible to be animate without blood flow and human activity can't alter the global climate based on sheer volume of area. Considering how the planet's natural devices deals with disasters like volcanoes that exude levels of gases and ash and heat and comparing that to the finite volume of human exudates...the narrative that has been pushed by the left and the media seems about as likely as a dead corpse actually being able to make dead muscles function or using a non-functioning brain to control the movement.

Couple that with the fact that loads of the so-called evidence has been proven to have been outright falsified and other data skewed and I think anyone that can set aside politics and a bleeding heart can see that at best it's a premature overreaction to normal climate change and at worst is a gross, concerted effort/scheme to use fear and spotty science that is not well understood to control economies, people and commerce.

The new so called "Climate Change" and the green agenda will without any doubt end up costing this country untold billions of dollars and drastically reduce America's ability to compete in the global economy with nations that do not buy into the same philosophy(and I use that term very loosely). The billions being spent to control greenhouse gases or more specifically carbon dioxide is primarily due to the EPA rule being imposed, without congressional approval by the way, that says that power plant emissions must be restricted to the lowest emissions fuel option so therefore hundreds of coal fired plants are being retired rather than attempting expensive carbon capture techology. The result is that electricity generation in this country will dramatically increase in cost with the application of this rule which is set to take full affect in 2016-2017. Conveniently after our current president is out of office so none of the fallout from this will touch him. Higher energy costs directly impact costs for goods and services that we as a society consume so it will be unavoidable that we will be impaired while trying to compete with the likes of China, Korea, India, etc.

Every time we breath we all exhale carbon dioxide so I guess by the EPA standard we should all stop breathing.

Far reaching impacts that many have not considered for a theoretical exercise that has not been proven.

So much for an open discussion.

I think it's interesting to hear these scientist talking about evolution and denying intelligent design then come back and make an argument that a fraction of one degree of change in temperature is going to bring the world to an end.
