Well hunting season is quickly approaching, and so is season changes. When most of us start in October it will be warm, then start dropping off until near freezing temps.

My question is this: Do you guys compensate for the changing temps with your bow? Do you leave it in the cold over night or take it inside? Do you sight it in every 10 degrees or so?
My first bow was a mathews FX and when it was cold, if it was inside, I had to wait until the bow itself got cold before it would shoot right

I've never experienced a problem such as that with my bows... perhaps it's because we tend to "ease" into our temps more gradually.

I leave mine in the garage overnight if it is really cold and I am hunting the next day. All this really helps do is control the sweating that occurs on the bow once in the field.

One other thing I do is drive with no heat on in the truck. It sounds stupid but it does two things for me. Number 1, it controls the sweating on the bow. Number 2 is it really makes it an easier transition to change outside once you get there. Your body is some what use to the cooler temps already.

I had a hunting partner who thought that way once... I thought all it did was make me colder, longer. :)

If it's extremely cold out I'll leave the bow outside overnight. I won't go so far as to not turn the heat on in the truck! (I'll keep the bow in the back.) You're safe riding with me Greg!

If you've got a wood bow or wood limbs, that's a different story. They'll change with temp., elevation and/or humidity.

I dont worry about it myself , i set my bow at 55 lbs for deer season hot or cold , and i dont leave my bow out in the cold all night , i treat it like i do every other day , your body and muscles will tighten up in the cold before your bow will , i'd consider working on that , like investing in heat packs for sore muscles , i put them on my shoulders and kidney area when it dips down below 20 degrees every year , sit in your treestand for 10 hours in 20 or 30 degree weather and try and draw your 70lb bow back on a nice buck and you cand get it drawn back .....lmao
