Nice Man! Let me know if that grinder is heavy duty enough, I'd like to start doing my own. Usually my brother does it for me, with my help, but sometimes it seems to inconvienience him a bit. My GF has a 600 watt Kitchen Aid mixer with a 1/2" square drive grinder attachment, but I've never tried it. Sometimes she gets touchy about me using "her tools"!

I was considering making one with 3/4 hp motor like my buddy up north has, man, does that thing grind! But if a smaller one will work, I'll just do it when the GF isn't looking!

    Looks great!

    Looking good!

I'm thinking about getting another foodsaver. I used to have one and it worked okay. It was just really slow. It did prevent freezer burn nicely.

GregH, I use a kitchenaid grinder attachment on my mixer for grinding. I usually grind around 20lbs of meat at a time and it does a good job.

I have that same grinder. Make sure you chunk them up into pieces the size of a golf ball or so. It doesn't have the HP of a larger grinder, but will do the job nicely if you don't push it too hard.

The grinder attachment for Kitchen Aid does a nice job. I used it once, but it belonged to my mother-in-law. She did'nt get too upset. KA attachments cost about $100 each, so if your worried about PI$$ING-OFF your GF buy a grinder.:D

The grinder motor hardly changed pitch while working. I cut the bigger stuff into strips and feed them right in. I got mine end of year on clearance for $35. Well worth the price :D

Those are some mighty fine looking quarter steaks you got there. I'm too a bit envious right now.
