That's equivalent to winning a hot dog eating contest. Congrats, your still fat (and kind of gross). It makes me laugh when people still generalize by state, IDC where you are its about local pressure/hunter attitudes and how much access to land you have. It's a nice nail to hang your hat on after striking out though, I'll concede that.
Not surprised by the states listed but am surprised that Michigan is listed first. On that note it is nice to see Vito win something though!
I have hunted out east and have land in WV. The list doesn't surprise me at all but would have figured Michigan to be 4th or 5th not first. Always seem to hear better success stories from MI then a few of the other states.
When there are 750,000 hunters, there will be some success stories. MI hunters kill around 200,000 antlered deer a year. Not all of them are young. There is still 72,000 killed that are 2.5 or older. And 128,000 that never see their second birthday. Staggering. Good news it is improving. I can remember the late 90s/early 00s when the buck harvest was routinely made up of over 80% of bucks under the age of 2. Improvement...so we got that going for us. Its a good thing I enjoy killing does. If I hunted. I laughed.
Plus, Michigan has some great genetics and if more deer were to mature you would hear a lot more about giants being killed there. Like the old days. As did I.
