So....what have you purchased....for the long haul? What have you bought that you will hopefully never have to replace?

    My bows.
    My backpack.
    My Rifle/Scope.
Most all of my Predator Camo.

(Looks like I may never need new arrows, unless I lose some during practice :()

I can't think of anything that I am not going to have to replace AT SOME POINT. I plan on staying in this game a while. :)

I will change everything at some point just due to significant improvements in technology.

But my intention was to purchase these for the long hall:

    Spot Hogg Sight
    Summit Goliath Climber
    Garmin eTrex Summit GPS
    Boxer Briefs

It's difficult to say I own anything that will never need to be replaced. After all, clothes wear out, arrows get lost/broken, broadheads dull, cameras stop working or get stolen, etc. With that being said, I have a few items I haven't replaced in years and have no plans to do so anytime soon.

    - Lone Wolf Stands & Sticks. You can put my 7 year old stands next to my 2 year old stands and not tell a single diffence. Aside from seat and strap coloration and wear they look the same as the day they came out of the box.

    - Binoculars. I have been using my Vortex binos for about 5 years now and have held up great.

    - Axcel Armortech Sight. Going on my 3rd season with this sight with no plans for change in the future. It's rock solid and can be moved from bow to bow as I get new ones.

    - Nikon Rangefinder. It tells me the range and has a nice case and strap. No need to replace unless I lose it or break it.

    - Gerber Gator Knife. Going on my 5th season with it now. It's gutted plenty of critters and keeps coming back for more.

I hope to never need a new knife. That would mean I lost it.
I think my lone wolf sticks should last for as long as I am able to climb a tree. Maybe some strap or hardware replacement?
My current bows & associated set up could probably last me quite a while if I wanted. Same with probably some of my clothes. I would also assume the trade bow I currently own will never need replaced as some I have are from the 60's
    Do grunt calls wear out?
Oh yea, how could i forget. I have a life time supply of thunderheads. Probably a 3 life time suply to be honest.

Great question! I have an old M.A.D. Monster Buck Adjustable I've had since the late 90's. Still works great. :tu:

Nothing. Everything will be eventually replaced for something better, newer or I just got to have it.

I am hoping though that I never lose my hunting knife. It has been very good to me. It has been a great knife. I gutted, skinned and cut up my first deer with it. I've used it on all my deer and many other's deer. I've butchered beef and pork with it. I hope I will be able to use it to gut, skin and cut up my last deer before I hang it up.

So do I.....and this is precisely what I'm talking about. Things you bought, pretty much (barring a catastrophic failure) knowing you'd never have to replace.

    I can say, without hesitation......

    My bow
    My knife
    My GWW wools

Love my boots & binos....but, I'm realistic. Love my GWW wolfskin. But again...I'm realistic (although these are FINE garments).

I wish I knew what else I could buy one-time. I'd do my best to do that.

My laminated maps should last forever. My HHA and magnus broadheads have a lifetime warranty, financially i shouldnt have to replace them.

I hope to never have to replace my Leupold Rangefinder, thing is tough as nails.

Everything else will probably need replacing.

Most of my bows are 35 yrs or older so I hope to get another 35yrs out of them. Been using the same Buck 112 folder for 20-couple years. I probably have close to 300 shafts but I still buy them up when I find a deal. My hunting clothes should last the rest of my hunting days unless I put on a lot of weight. Boots I'll go thru a few pair a year

I'm realistic here. All things, if you use them long and hard enough, will eventually wear out and need replaced.

I have bought some things for the long haul though that I don't plan on replacing anytime in the future.

Spot Hogg sight - Its 6 years old and still works like new. Little scratched up now but it adds character

Summit Climber - Its also 6 years old and performs like the day I got it out of the box.

GWW Wolfskin clothes - These are 4 years old and still look like new even though I have beat them pretty hard.

Leapold Gold Ring Binos - these were a big investment but have been flawless in 5 years. Plus they have a lifetime warrenty which helps.

Badlands packs - again, lifetime warranty and both of them do all that I could ever ask for.

When I buy anything expensive anymore, I always look for a warranty or research how a company treats its customers. It usually says a lot about a product if the company is willing to give it a lifetime warranty or bend over backwards to help you.
