We had us a little Illinois Bowfishers tournament down on Rend Lake over the weekend. The Billy Davis Memorial Tournament.

20 boat teams, 2 walking teams = 61 people. We had boats of all types and sizes. From V-bottoms to a big block airboat.

The tourney was from 7pm to 7am. Rain started at 11pm and lasted throughout the morning. It deterred some folks... but most of us just got wet.

Most of us were able to find a few fish too. :deer: All together, the teams brought in about 2350 fish. 1st place team brought in 541 fish, 2nd place 333 fish, 3rd 245 fish and fourth brought in 226 fish. K and I won the 'average joe' money for our 105 fish.

We had two regional IDNR fisheries biologists there. The rend Lake biologist Mike Hooe wishes we'd come and shoot rough fish there every weekend. The rough fish are sort of the pisces non grata of the fishing world.

Anyhoo, here are a couple of photos.

The first fish Diana shot that evening. For a numbers shoot, you really don't want fish like this because of the weight.... on the other hand, how can you resist??

Second place team (Brian Chevalier, Matt Clark and Roger Jones) shot some big fish but they have a boat that can carry the weight. That's well over a ton of fish there.

We filled our four barrels and then had to come back. It's a good night when you have to quit because your fish fish barrels are full.

More pictures later. Alicia was our professional photographer and she did a great job.
