I believe there will be alot of people shocked when they figure out the elevator they were pointed to is going down. I believe that elevator will be filled with people of all denominations, beliefs and different interpertations of the bible and scripture.
Tony, if you can answer my questions, with scripture, in context, I will answer your questions, with scripture, in context. You just simply can not argue with Truth, unless you want to believe a lie. There is one plan of salvation, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. That is Bible, and I can give scripture for it. If this is the case, then why do so many different faiths, baptisms, and interpretations of who God, Jesus, Holy Ghost, and heaven forbid we bring up the illusion of the tradition of "the trinity". I'm game. I already did Tony. The "whole" truth. When you finally do that, He will give you what you need to truly know Him.

Tony, I would have never been "so cute" if you were not so "judgemental and condescending" to a 42 yr old grown man who is very much aware of the Bible, the plan of salvation, and where to find Truth to live by. You think you are saved? Well I will never tell you you are not. Not my place. I will tell anyone of the Truth though. I know there are a lot of people in this world who will deny, deny, deny. Hey, that's the way it will always be. I thought at one time I could just follow any old plan of faith and acceptance and be saved. I found out there is so much more to a life with God living inside. Thousands (maybe even millions) are blind and mislead every day in this world. My only advice (Unless asked for more), would be to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (you can finish the rest of that scripture I am sure). Casting pearls? Is that as Christian as you can muster up? You are in my prayers as well Tony. If I see a deer, I will shoot.
Please tell me who told you that you couldn't......or, how you came to realize that just being a "regular 'ol good Christian' was gonna put you on the 'down' elevator. That's all we all want to be left to do........sans the fear and trembling.
Jeff, there are thousands, if not millions, who follow a "plan" or "tradition of men" to try and be saved. Let me ask you a question. Let's just say you have a CEO of a company. He trained a group of employees on how he wants his company ran. Now, one day he decides it is time to retire. He leaves the group of employees with a plan and they must follow that plan in order to ever receive their retirement benefits. They are to recruit others to become part of the company as well. Ok? Now, along comes Jeff. He wants a job with this company. Who better to ask, or follow in the footsteps of, than the group that the CEO has hired and trained exactly the way he wants them to be, and the way he wants the company to be ran? It is the same way with God and His Word. He is the CEO. The group of employees are the Disciples. He placed His thoughts and desires on paper thru these men as to how we should (live) run the company until we retire and receive our reward. To me, if you are not following the plan, as the Disciples put forth, then, well, you are not following God's plan, and that will never lead you to your reward. If you start studying different people's beliefs and different "denominations" you will see very quickly that some follow part of the plan. Some follow less. Some follow more. Some are not even following at all. If you follow this scripture, and others, you will come to realize we must rightly divide the word of truth in order to find out just what is required to be saved. He says to do it with fear and trembling because there are many out those who would love nothing more than to deceive you into following after "traditions of men" and becoming a "card signing believer". There is no true relationship with God in these people. They have a belief that was handed down to them and they accepted it because that is what Grandma and Grandpa did, and there is no way those two sweet old peopla were not saved. They are deceived by unlearned men and women who did not go back to the group of employees to find out how the CEO wanted the company ran.
Were the men who translated God's word many, many times......learned or un-learned? Does their relationship with God trump everyone else's? Why do so many want to separate themselves from the throngs................and seemingly (.....seemingly) place themselves on the pious pulpit? You don't get my class envy analogy? You speak of wishing to spread God's word. Can you not see that this line of thought is turning WAY more people away?
God's Word is sharper than a two edged sword Jeff. Some allow it to cut out the pride and "pious class envy". Others, it will kill because they have too much pride in themselves to allow God to do a work within them.

If there was one translation (God to the disciples you reference), that would be one thing. We both know better than that. Bobby....We're never going to agree on this. That's fine. Let me throw this out there as well, since I feel I have hurt the feelings of some. I truly apologize if the bickering between me an Tony has hurt your feelings. We have since took our conversation to private messaging. My intentions were never to hurt anyones feelings. Only trying to convey truth. Thats all. I am not perfect, as are none of us here. Sorry.

I fully understand Jeff, but to delve into translations would take days (although I have done this in the past). I will leave that up to the individual to study the history of God's Word and come to there own conclusion. The Truth is there to be had if desired enough. Its history is actually notated very thoroughly. My hope for you Jeff, is to remain hungry, and be filled as well. Thanks, and no, I do not feel as though any pearls have been cast.
