I would have to go back to the Garden of Eve .... obviously this has been going on since the fall ... but the Bible says that it will get worse .. and it is....
I disagree. I don't think it's getting any worse. We just have the means to communicate the results of evil that didn't exist a couple generations previously. I can pick up today's paper and read about an Embassy bombed in Rome, 2 hurt, a student protest in Venezuela, three injured, an Ivory Coast TV station shut down, a murder-suicide in Meridian, MS, both parents and two kids dead, a body discovered at the home of August Busch in St. Louis. I'm young, but my husband, who is older than I, assures me that this kind of news detail was not always so easily available. When I consider history, and look back at the wars, mass killings, tortures, and general lack of human compassion, I don't see the difference. Even the Bible recounts invasions where the entire population of a town was killed. What about Sodom and Gomorrah? The name of one of the towns has been memorialized as a designation for an act of perversion.
None of these scriptures say that "all" believers have the Holy Ghost. You still have not answered my question. Tony you can "believe" a Corvette is yours for 50 years and it still not be yours. Until you purchase it, drive it, take care of it, and "maintain" it, its still not yours I dont care how much you believe it is. How do you know for a fact that "you have it"? I really see no need for me to use the scriptures in this conversation so far. You are answering for me. See the bolded part. Notice the words "done in his body" and "according to that he hath done". Sounds like someone has to do something, and in a certain way as well. Figure out what the fire is Tony. Tony, I know the Bible pretty well. And you know that. I will never have "every" answer, but the Holy Ghost reveals all truth.
Bobby ... it actually scares me how you don't understand ....you make NO sense... but whatevs .... enjoys your Christmas .... I am out ...
Nuff said .. you don't agree with God's Word .... no more need for me to discuss it then .... enjoy your Christmas
My buddies dads newfangled translated version had it in there. Are these the only verses that talk about it?
Tony, you are the one who is in denial bud, not me. I know exactly what I am talking about, but until you experience it bud, you will never understand. And by the way you are learning, but you just aint there yet. But whatever... Merry Christmas!!!!
The Bible says it will get worse. You say it's getting worse. I said it's not getting any worse than it has been. I didn't disagree with the Bible. I disagreed with YOU. Since when does your personal opinion take on Biblical authority? That's a bit arrogant, don't you think?
The culture of OUR country is getting worse, no doubt. However, our world today is moderatively comfortable and relaxed compared to many other periods of our world's history.
Then it seems we are doing fine and the end of times is way off? I'm not argueing, I'm just trying to figure out why I've been told that this is "end of days" for the last 30 years.
I'm telling ya.....there are those among us.............. "Christians"........ who would like nothing better than than to experience "salvation" ............AND witness you NOT experiencing the same.
Listen carefully, little girl.. ... THE BIBLE says 2Ti 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. So you disagree with THE BIBLE .... and "Since when does your personal opinion take on Biblical authority? That's a bit arrogant, don't you think?"
you have proven NOTHING with Scripture ... you logic is as good as cow dung to me ... give me Bible ... IN CONTEXT ..... you really need to get off the pablum, Brah .... but then again, "you are learning, but you just aint there yet."
I mean, when peeps don't agree, they really don't want to hear someone else's thoughts on a matter .... at least not over and over again ... like Bobby and myself ... we will never agree till he submits to GOD'S truth (JK...kinda) So we can go back and forth until it just gets tiring ... and I don't want to hear his logic on it anymore ....
That's my opinion based on what I've read of history in the Bible and other sources. Did I mention Sodom and Gomorrah? Remember the decadence of the Greeks and Romans? How the Romans would line the roads with crucified victims? How the Greek aristocracy approved of homosexual behavior? I'm sure you've heard about the decadence of the Roman emperors and the Roman aristocracy. They've even made movies about it. Then there was Vlad Tepes, (aka, Vlad the Impaler), who impaled folks on stakes for fun. The Bible mentions a period where God allowed Babylon to exile the Israelites from their land because of the decadence of God's chosen people and their lack of adherence to God's commandments. How about the invasions in the Bible and other sources describing the destruction of entire cities and the slaughter of all the inhabitants? What about the attack by the Crusaders on Constantinople where the inhabitants were slaughtered and raped and the city destroyed? The people of Constantinople were actually Christians but the Crusaders thought they were infidels because they dressed funny. What about the Inquisition? What about the Salem witch trials? Abortion is not new. Our methods are just more effective now and safer, for the "mother" that is. Homosexual behavior isn't new either. We know that because the Bible condemns it. And remember Lot's experience in Sodom? Gross! He ended up offering the crowd his daughters so they would leave his visitors alone. Nice guy! As I said, it's just my opinion and that's what I pointed out to Tony. I know the Bible says things will get worse. I just don't think that things are any worse yet than they ever have been. I think things could get worse and that's really scary.
Why cant people just interpert the bible and scripture in their own way and form their beliefs accordingly with out others telling them they are wrong? People will and have always interperted things differently . Who among us is rightous enough to say who is right or wrong? I would say God is the only one to pass that judgement. To take it one step farther what denomination is correct??? The Catholics, Methodist, Jews............
True enough. There are so many different interpretations of the Bible and so many different religious practices, simply put, the odds are that any one person's interpretation or practice is wrong. That doesn't bother me though because I don't think when all is said and done, God is that concerned with the details of your practice or interpretation. The idea that God is going to condemn millions and millions of people to eternal torment because they didn't get the formula quite right is beyond absurd. Now I will go into prophetess mode and predict that someone will flame me. :p
