Brett ... this makes NO sense .... abortion is a legal CHOICE .... MAN made it legal ... God puts government in place as the people that live there desire it ... Israel asked for a King .. they were told by God that it would be a bad idea ...they kept asking for one .. so God gave them what they wanted ... enter EVERY other country in the world ... there ya go
" God puts government in place as the people that live there desire it" So if God puts government in place then he also puts certain people in political positions? Yes or no?
My initial response to this Brett is that even if you believe people are put into elected positions by the will of God (I don't believe that) those people still sin. Everyone, on this earth, other than Jesus sins. Therefor you can't take those "god's chosen ones" word for everything.
Thanks Tony, I understand now. I have literally heard religous groups telling people that God puts the elected officials into place, so that people should follow the law because it really is an extension of what God wants. Maybe those groups are not articulating their thoughts correctly, or are just plain dumb. Thanks for clarifying.
I like to think of Jesus like with giant eagles wings, and singin' lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band and I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk!
The Bible does say that God sets up government as a terror to evil doers ..... and that the heart of the king is in the hand of The Lord and He turns it whatever way He wills. .. but again, sometimes people haveto get what they think they want, so they understand it's not the best choice ... think of most teenagers ..no offense, Caleb :D
No feelings hurt Tony God also states in the bible that once society accepts homosexuality (like openly gay men now allowed to be in the military) that the end of the world is eminent and near. Im just the messenger
Actually, it DOESN'T say that, Caleb .... it does say in 2Ti 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Carefully read the above ....
Sounds like a lot of Work to be done, or Work to not be done to be pleasing to God. Maybe Faith alone just will not get you there after all. Just sayin' :D
You re SOOOOOO missing the picture of GRACE, Bobby .... think on this thought ....REAL faith works ... we don't work to BE accepted in Christ, we work because we ARE accepted in Christ ...... James was talking about people that say they have faith and do NOTHING ....not real faith .... "If ye are in Christ ye are a NEW CREATURE, old things have passed away, behold ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW! " Praise The Lord it is HIM
If you do nothing but believe, and never repent, be baptized, and once you are full of the Holy Ghost, lead a holy, pure life, you are living yet in sin. There are some things that Jesus himself said we had to do in order to see the Kingdom of God. Did He not? This is what I am getting at Tony. And no, I am not missing the picture. I fully understand that without His grace, we would be without hope. And yes Real faith works. Faith causes a man/woman of God to take action. If these actions are not taken, they will never bear fruit. If a tree bears no fruit, it is hewn down and cast into the fire. Fully 100% agree with this.
We can't do it outside of Him .. if we have truly been Born again as Jesus stated we must be, then He, the Holy Ghost and The Father live in and thru us .... THAT'S Bible .. you have to remember that Jesus dealt with the Pharisees and the Saducees because they were the representation of what "holy" was .. and they were WAYYYY OFF. The Bible deals with all the same issues today as well .. false "christians" abound .... we need to "compare Spiritual things with Spiritual" All believers have the Holy Spirit ... "if ye have NOT the Spirit, you are none of His" and "it is CHRIST that worketh in you both to will and do of His good pleasure". TRUE born again people are new creatures in CHRIST ... and they can NEVER be UN-Born again..
I agree. These 3 "titles" are all One Spirit. God is a Spirit. Yep. Totally agree with the bolded part especially. What Bible you reading Bro.? Maybe not be "un-born" but they can backslide and go straight to hell according to the KJV. What do you think God is going to Judge born again believers "by" Tony?
Bobby ... read this real close ... Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. The Judgement seat of Christ .... have you noticed you use ZERO Scripture to base your belief on????????? Again, read carefully .. 2Co 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 1Co 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 1Co 3:12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 1Co 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 1Co 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Well we certainly have plenty of that going on. But maybe you could refer us to a time when none of that was happening. I'm not an historian, but I've done some reading and I don't see anything new there. Although we sheep don't do some of that stuff
