Tony, I want to turn this back on you because I have a strong hunch I know what your stance will be about abortion. What about in cases of rape and incest?
Guilty. The only gray area for me is rape. I'm pro life, but I'm willing to hear about abortion in cases of rape.
Rape and incest .... If it's murder, it's murder ... cant have your cake and eat it too ... It's such a hard thing ... I mean, I think If my wife got raped, or my daughter .... it would be tough, but I would want them to have the baby and give it away if they or I couldn't keep it .... tough situation ....
No I'm not .. I just believe it is murder ..... truth be told, who REALLY knows what they would do unless it happened ... I would like to think I would defer to my faith ....
Would you support (or allow) their decision to let them have an abortion if they were set on having an abortion to rid themselves of the horrible thought of carrying a baby for the next 9 months because you were raped. Hard to move on from their perspective if you know what I mean. For the record... playing devil’s advocate because I have never been able to make up my mind on this (rape and incest abortion).
Dang! I KNEW someone was gonna call me on that one....... I would not support it, but I couldn't condemn them .... does that make sense?
I will say one thing. That is how I believe lawmakers should handle abortion IMO. Only allow it in the case of rape and incest. The reason I say that is not everyone believes in god. But everyone "should' agree it is murder. Then, you as an individual and family can decide on your own in that case. I don't think a person should be forced to carry a baby for nine months that they did not want and could not avoid. They are a victim, they did not cause the child to be conceived as opposed to the girl who has sex but hopes they don't get pregnant. I don't have much sympathy for them. Just the same with the death penalty. We, as a society, are technically murdering the inmate but for a supposed justified cause.
I remember hearing many religous folks talk about how our elected officials were put in their political positions of power by God and that we must follow the letter of the law or risk going against God's rule. So if abortion is legal and the elected officials who signed off that abortion is legal were put in their positions by God, then why would anyone have a religious problem with abortion?
