How cold is it there?? When we started tromping for sheds this morning... it was 17 below. We weren't dressed as heavy as you. Wussy !!!! :P Course we have alot more snow then you so plowing through it kept us warm. We started at 9 AM and quit at 3:30 as the deer were starting to come out and we didn't want to bother them. It might have broke zero today but it was short lived. Beautiful day !!! In some ways I envy places that don't get much snow or cold weather but it is nice not seeing a soul out and about when it gets this cold. You have the whole place to yourself. Very peaceful getting to watch the deer and other critters going about their business undisturbed. Tim
Jake my 12 ye old went out and started the truck this morn. He comes in and says dad its nice out today. I ask him what's the temp? He replies its only -5 lmao.
We don't get much around here either, but we got hit with it hard on Friday. It is very entertaining watching people trying to drive down a road covered with ice, especially when they have no idea what they are doing :D
That's a lot of snow for NC is it not? That's more than the typical dusting you get down there sometimes isn't it?
NY....We got about 6-7" a month ago (MNKK and I hunted in it, one day). Then, we got this, Fri/Sat.. Yeah....it's a little more than we usually see at one time. Most I ever remember at one time was 20". Honestly, I bought my ATV in Jan of '06. Last month's snow was the 1st good one we've had to ride in, since I got it. We've been sledding (snowmobiles) in Huntington, Ontario. We've spent plenty of time in Canada in the winters. But trust me when I tell you......17-20 deg. is cold, here. Yeah....I said "here". Ask Will (huck) how cold it gets, here.....lol. It's pretty. We took picutures. Now, I'm ready for it to get GTFOH.
I like the shot of the tiki torches in the snow. They seem to not go together. I've about had it with the white crap too. I still have a couple months to get through though. Actually snowfall hasn't been too bad this year. The lake effect from lake ontario has been skirting us so far and staying just north of me (where they are measuring in feet a day). Been REALLY cold though. Balmy -5 this morning without the wind. I think it's time to grab the clubs, hop on a plane and go to Florida for a couple weeks. Cabin fever is setting in.
It was 60, here, Thursday (unusual). Yesterday's high was 22. High today was 32. Maybe 36, tomorrow. Not complaining.....just reporting.
We have had 2 dustings of snow all year, less than an inch each time. We are due to get dumped on, but hopefully not.
Jeff its been the same way over here in North GA. This is the most snow we've had in years. Been fun while it was here, now it needs to go away. :D
Right now what is left for snow up here is mostly ice. It has not snowed up here for about 3 weeks (until tonight... supposed to get 2 inches). I tried stalking through a swamp on Sunday (last day of the last open whitetail season) and found it to be impossible. I must of sounded like a Mack Truck coming through. Pretty much just ended up scouting. Oh well, a cure for cabin fever. We can't all have BHF's awesome hunting schedule. :p
