Putting this thread together for people that like to save money. Please add to the list of Scent free hunting supplies you can get for cheaper.

    1. Deodorant. Arm and Hammer unscented $1.97 at Walmart VS $4.97 for HS or Dead Down Wind
    2. Scent free large bags. HME $24.99 VS HS deluxe for $50 (garbage bags aren't my thing)
    3. Scent free spray. Make your own for $5 VS about any brand around for ?$

I know some people make mouth wash, scent free totes, and scent free wipes, but don't know how much they cost.

Couple other things to keep you as scent free as possible for little money. Use baking soda on your cloths, put some on your tooth brush, and dump some in your boots.

I use the Arrid XX unscented cost the same as Arm and Hammer but a heck of alot better in my oppinion.

Laundry Detergent is All free and clear with a scoop of Baking Soda in the washer with it , half the price than hunting laundry detergant and twice as much.

I have 3 clear zipper bags that bed comforters come in thats what i keep my hunting clothes in to store them and after i come home if i dont hang them back outside because its raining , i spray the bags down and wipe them with scent eliminator and dust them with baking soda and then put them in a tote .

I use Vanilla Extract as a early season and late season lure its cheap and effective , i buy my fresh Doe Urine from a deer farm in Pennsylvania for $40.00 a gallon beats buying one ounce for $7.00 when you can buy 144 ounces for $40.00

There is a few ways but here is the one i found most effective

    empty 1 gal. jug
    1/2 gal. distilled water
1 oz of scent free soap
one 32 oz bottle of peroxide (brown bottle)
    one cup of baking soda

Stir with an arrow or stick and leave sit for a week with the lid off (DO NOT PUT LID ON OR IT WILL BLOW UP THE JUG AND MAKE A MESS) you can put lid on after it settles down after a week .

optional but not necessesary , i put one half teaspoon of chlorine stabilizer in it

Water and baking soda would be my guess. I don't do this as much as I did before. You can shower with baking soda instead of scent free wash. Baking soda is $1, and I'd use the whole box. I just buy the scent free soap now, as I tend to use less and it's not as gritty. Still brush my teeth with baking soda and peroxide (every day thing), I use folliage for scent control for my clothes totes though (ie, I use pine/cedar branches). I also use fresh prisimons on my boots as a cover scent

I also add in a little HS scent free shampoo.

Military surplus on carbon suits. I got a British one for about $30 but I know people have got them for $20 still sealed in a bag.

Hefty makes some really big ziploc bags. Look for the Hefty "Big Bags" in the grocery store. You get four for about $6.

Borrow something. I'm borrowing a friend's range finder. I get to field test it for free. If I like it, I can buy one next year. I also like splitting the cost of something we might both use. This doesn't work with all your friends.

Drive slower. Whether you spend money for gasoline/diesel or a new bow; it's all money. Just convince yourself before you leave for the hunt, that you don't need to drive fast like everybody else because you're a better time manager. When somebody speeds by you, just smile sit back and relax.

I have been using my wifes caramel apple body wash, it smells delicious. I figure if the deer do wind me they will probably think it smells delicious too. Is this baiting?

This has nothing to do with sent but something I found interesting for saving $$. For winter camo, a painters uniform roughly 10 bucks buy XL and wear warm cloths underneath. :tu:

For storage i use the Big "space age" vacuum bags. I figure if they can get the air sucked out of them and keep it out they must be pretty darn air tight. picked up a few extra large ones at the local Big Lots for like $10.

-Use cattails instead of expensive powders and other wind indicators
-Use XXL ziplocs for scent free storage
-buy wool and fleece clothing for layering that isn't camo

to make my own sent free spray i take
    1 gallon milk just
    fill almost full with water
and one good sized bottle of activated carbon from the fish store
shake and shake till its black
take a coffee strainer or an old sock and filter
add to spray and use it

the activated carbon sucks up all the odder in the clothes, the same way sent eliminator clothes do

Going to try the activated carbon from the fish store. Probably work better than scent blocker anyways.

I disagree as I had a tree fall on my hunting truck because of the damn wind.
I now save money because my car gets over 30 mpg though.
