I have graphite shafts that can be hard to pull from my 3D target. Thought of a paste wax to "slick" the shaft. Your thoughts? Thanks.
I'm pretty sure you have carbon arrows - not graphite. There are a variety of lubricants designed to help make pulling arrows from foam targets easier. https://www.lancasterarchery.com/nsearch/?q=arrow+lube
Fwiw, if they are field arrows (scent doesn't really matter), some folks will use a kitchen cooking spray (e.g. Pam). I've used coconut oil (very thin coat and wipe as much off as you can) with good results on target arrows.
Carbon arrow. Thinking of fishing rods. Senior moment. I have some paste wax but don't want to use anything as WD-40 with a petroleum base. Thanks for the replies.
Before lubes were very common to put on the end of the arrow I used to just rub a bit of ivory soap on the end of my arrows to help them release from 3d targets when doing 3d shoots. I would just cut a chunk off the bar to use so I didn't have to carry the whole thing. I can't say that the newer stuff I'm using works any better than a bar of soap did, but the newer lube is easier to apply. Below is a link of what I'm currently using. You just put the lube in the applicator, clip the applicator to your belt quiver, and then stick the arrow into it before shooting. https://www.amazon.com/Arizona-Arch...1591994192&sprefix=arrow+lubes,aps,919&sr=8-7
