I was doing some late night reading the other night on waterholes for whitetail and thought I would put one in by my stand.
Did just that today. Turned out pretty good I think. Got a camera in it and excited to do a check in a week or so. Anyone else try this?

It surely can't hurt. All deer need water but I'd imagine it's not quite as scarce where you are. I've always hunted it a lot where I am. Guess the big thing depends on where the next closest water source(s) are. If there are several around, it might not attract a lot of deer but they all need a drink now and then. Good luck and hope it works out. You should get pics of other animals using it too. Let us know how it goes!

Yeah a bucket works well to0, deer will drink right out of it.

IMG_1372.JPG Since I put the waterhole in I have been getting 20 - 30 pictures between checks. Till this last week it bumped up a little to 234.
Still no bucks on camera but that's typical for my land. As the batchler groups break up and they disperse they start showing up.
