Hopefully have time this weekend to get the decoys out to give a look over, mud the layouts and finish my blind build. Intensive season starts this Saturday but I wont be going.

I'd like to join that action. I'll be chasing them here all winter but have never hunted them that late.

Great. I'm thinking right after Christmas day. I'll stay in touch and we'll see how our schedules work.

Anyone in here mold their own foam decoys?
I just picked up an aluminum eider mold to start making my own. I know it isn't too cost effective at the moment but thats not the point..

A pond I have to hunt has had 17 black ducks on it every day for 2+ weeks along with 20 or so geese.

A buddy said he saw a few come off of a slough mixed in with some wood ducks. Seems early...

Yes it does seem super early. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I did a triple take and stood there scratching my head until they flew out of site. I don't even have the marshes planted in jap millet yet here

I've seen a few groups of local ducks here recently. They're all coming from one area that isn't duck hunted at all, it's just a ditch in the field.

The other day there were about 2 dozen in the air coming from that direction. I'm so damn ready!!!

You can hunt them in ND. My son shot one last year.
