Yeah it pretty much is identical to the 3500 except it can't cycle 3 1/2" shells. I'm pumped to start shooting!
My one buddy I hunt with just bought a 10ga for goose hunting... I told him he's crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am really excited for this season. Last year I didn't get out as much I would have liked, but I did have a few good hunts. I'm excited also because I will be able to hunt a lot of afternoon in college with how I got my schedule set up. Plus, I'm going to be in Brookings, SD and I have heard the hunting is pretty good around there for waterfowl! Kinda sad I won't be able to bring my dog with me though.
Why?? As long as he can handle the recoil, a 10ga is so much better with large payloads of large steel shot.
I've heard that too, I am used to hunting lake Mac here in Nebraska and it's pressured pretty hard also. I'm hoping it's not a whole lot different. Any advice? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Perseverance. Don't give up because there are some awesome honey holes out there. Take the time and expand an hour out of brookings if time permits. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I shoot a Benelli SBE1 with a carlson's LM choke. Shoot 3" Fiochi #2s in fields, and Kent Teal Steel #5s and 2 3/4" 7s when I'm in the woods. Bout to pick up a 20 gauge for in the woods.
1) gun: Stoeger M3500 - I keep telling myself I'll buy something nicer, but the trigger pulls great and they fall from the sky 2) choke: Kicks High Flyer Extended Range 3) ammo: Fiocchi ($9 / box) or Kents. I typically use #2 because they're good on both around here but if it's geese only I shoot BB.
Has anyone painted decoys? Mine are looking pretty homely. Some buddies and I are going to bring them all together and get to painting but I'm not sure what paint to use.
I've painted lots of decoys. If I'm painting divers I use krylon rattle cans for the body and acrylic for the eye and bill. Puddlers outdoor latex and acrylic. Biggest thing is to make sure they at clean and any chipping/peeling paint is gone and down to plastic.
Imo... There is no need to go that big. Out of everyone I hunt with I shoot the smallest loads and kill way more birds. Finding a gun and ammo that suits you is the key Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
