Getting the boat ready with new lights, seats, and depth finder. Got two dozen foam bodies coming that need to be turned into eiders. Looking forward to the season starting up! If I wasn't building a new house, I'd be buying a bigger boat, but that can wait.

Focusing more on sea ducks this year.

Something I'd like to try once in my life. Heck, I've never even hunted divers before.

Just bought our tags and stamp over the weekend. It'll be my first full season. Shot a teal last year and one goose. Hopefully this year is a bit more successful (though we have so much geese in the freezer still!).

We were given rights to hunt a nice pond in Ohio (always flocks upon flocks of geese in it) - but think we're going to pass on that.

Man I wish they were coming along faster! I am working with one of the top guys in the industry and we've been sending my calls back and fourth. I know what I need to do next... but ... I bought a house and the kids had spring sports 5-6 days a week. Now I have some big projects at work keeping me there til late...

The good news, I know what needs to happen next, and the kids sports will and my projects will all be over before waterfowl season starts. Needless to say, I'm pumped!

Get this... My old colombias developed a leak at the seam (good waders) I went in Cabelas a while back to look at waders and see what size I needed. I had settled on the 1600 super mags, lifetime warrany and great reviews. However, I was in the middle of buying a house and didn't want to spend any extra money at all so I was just going to look and stalk them out til they're on sale.
Well I get a box down to try on and notice the tag says $129.99. Didn't think much about it, they felt great, comfortable.
I put them back up and went into the cave to check prices in there. Even "soiled" waders were $225-250.
Then it hit me... $129.99!!!!! Holy crap.
So I grabbed the box back off the shelf and took them up to the counter. They rang up full price and taxes, the $300 range I think. I told the girl the tag said $129.99. So she called back to confirm. Then called her manager over. Then she called back to confirm.
Then the manager pulled a white ticket out, wrote down a bunch of numbers, handed it to the cashier, she put it in the computer with the new price... on the computer screen it stated "tag error". But they did honor the price.
I was walking out, pleased as could be, and as I was walking by the manager she was stearnly saying into her radio "take that tag off that product immediately!!!".
Immediately I texted my buddies who were pissed I didn't buy 4 pair haha.

That's a heck of a deal! IMO the Cabelas Super Mag 1600's are the best waders on the market. They keep you warm and toasty plus you can move very well in them. I think I paid 179 for mine and 229 for my wife's. Wish I could have found her's on sale.

This little call right here is about the only thing i take anymore. Ive had it for 10 years now. It has been WELL worth the 25$ i paid for it. Sounds great and the greentoppers love it.

I'm just counting down the days now... Can't do much until the fields start getting cut for silage and what not to scout. We had a big get together bad in early May to clean all the decoys and get them ready for the next season.

Been working with my dog as much as possible. Not having much free time. Currently in the middle of closing on a house. Should be in it by July 22nd.

This pass Monday me and my father and friend worked with the WV DNR and helped band and bleed 102 geese. It was my first time doing it and it was great. I'll post some pictures later when I get home.

Yup that's a yentzen. Not a berreta though. Thats my baby. Its a Super Black Eagle II. The bottom land camo just looks killet on it.

Reach out to local DNR biologist and ask if you can help out. Little late now, but try for next year. We are ready having adults flying here.

It was quite the experience. Especially when the asked me to be a holder for the bleeders.

The bottom land looks good on it, was that factory or did you have it dipped?

This will tell you how green I am. I think I bought the ground force cover and not the blind. Was reading a little closer and it calls it ghillie cover/golden harvest. Dang it. Its hard to get anyone on the phone at marshmut. I did find the Tangle free little buddy dog blind in realtree on sale for 49.99 and bought it. Have not seen either one show up in the mail yet. If it is the cover might see if it will work on the other one. Also bought a primos final approach shock call and primos 5 call lanyard. Not sure if they are any good, but have to start some where.

Gun looks good,I really like that pattern. That strap of birds doesn't look bad either.
