Anyone ever use them? Wanted to get some before this last season but never got around to it. I'd flock the heads and tails myself so it looks like it'd be an easy way to add numbers to a floater spread pretty inexpensively. Looking to possibly get 18-24 of them before next year if the price holds out for a while. https://www.rogerssportinggoods.com...d-hd-floating-canada-goose-decoys-6-pack.html
Looks like a pretty sweet deal Travis. I might pick a few up also. My floaters are very old... like I think the Indians carved them.
Nice, MO/KS great places to pile up the green. Looks like geese in the picture but you know what I'm saying.
Haha! I don't hunt water a ton so I sold 3 dozen of my older Flambeau goose floaters that I had this past offseason. Of course I hunted water more this year than I have in the past 5 combined so I figured it's time to get some nicer floaters. Got a couple new ponds to hunt next year so it should be worth the investment. That and 90% of the geese any of my buddies shot this past year were all on water. Might have to start going back to my old ways a little bit.
They got some pretty rough reviews on a couple waterfowl sites. Here's one from the refuge, do a search there, there was several... http://refugeforums.com/refuge/threads/fa-standard-floaters.995911/#post-10416962
No, most of those are mallards. There were some canadas there too but I'm pretty sure they got out of frame for the most part before I got my phone app to open up and work.
Heading out in the morning, hoping to get on some birds again. The wind is suppose to be perfect for the spot I'm going to.
1 more day of work and then it's nothing but waterfowl hunting for 12 days!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My father and buddies are in Texas. Tomorrow will be their 3rd day. So far all I've heard is blue bills red heads and pintails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I read a bunch of reviews about filling with water too but I can't fathom the thought process of some people not to simply fill the hole from the molding process. If they're still priced this good in a while I'll buy some if I can't find a good local deal on some used floaters. I won't use them enough to justify $120 per 6 goose floaters. I will have to check them out. I've got a 2 pack of Tanglefree that I won at a DU banquet a few years back that I've never used but are nice decoys. Might have to look into getting some more of those.
Someone here finally got duckified this evening with three greenheads. First time ducks were ever shot off our marshes that I know of. Man these marshes are a thing of freaking beauty, I love them. Perfect water depth, lots of food, very proud papa, lol.
You guys have any tips on brushing in a layout in corn fields that are disked? Ive been scouting to try and get on some geese and it seems most of the fields have been run through already and its a lot of dirt and maybe a little bit of corn stubble.
Post a pic or did you forget? Me and smctitan along with a friend of his went hunting this morning. We were able to put down 1 ring neck 1 wood duck and a goose. We were greeted ever so nicely by the DNR at the boat lunch which kinda put a damper on getting a photo of us and our birds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
