I see that. We don't have flooded corn either unless we get a wet fall but until harvest is done, I pray it stays as dry as a popcorn fart! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
You mean the more colorful one is a duck and the one that's more dull is a diver? Damn, geese sure are complicated.
We finally were able to get a good hunt in last weekend. The temps dropped way off and pushed a lot of birds down. We had 2 good days before they started feeding in a different field on the 3rd day and then they were gone. The weather here in central Indiana has been awful for birds. It's been too warm, not very rainy and when there's sun, there's absolutely no wind. Still can't wait to get back out there again!
Our season opened back up today and its on till January 31. Started the rest of the season with 4 today.
All I saw was one single coot on opening day. Busted about 5-6 buffleheads out of a little pond while walking to my shooting house today at about 4PM. Which lakes or rivers do you hunt? The only ducks I ever see are buffleheads. All of our wood ducks leave right before season opens. lol
I hunt a few small rivers that run through Pike County, and over on Lake Eufaula some. I wanna plan a trip because the duck hunting around here sucks
You could check out Boligee in greene county. Our friends own a 1000 acre farm right along the river(I forgot what its called) They build a 2 acre lake just for ducks. We went down there last year and there was nearly 500 ducks sitting in there. So I think the ducks should actually fly that river thats beside the property. We heard a lot of shooting on that river while we were down there too.
Dropped off my Redheads at the taxidermist today, I decided to go ahead and get them mounted as a pair. Sunday was our last day of the regular duck season, there's a 2 day late season right after Christmas but I doubt I will get out for that. Now I'm looking forward to late goose at the end of January. I have a new addiction to say the least. First season and I already have 3 birds at the taxidermist
Congrats on those Redheads, they were beautiful. I thought about giving you a hard time again about them being geese but I didn't want to
