I've not been out hunting them but our marshes are freaking covered in birds. I drained them over summer and the wild food came in like you wouldn't believe. I didn't think we were going to get any water back in them but we've had a ton of rain the last couple of weeks and they aren't full but they have plenty of water. I drove in to check on them a couple days ago and the upper 8 acre marsh was literally birds solid from every direction. It literally looked like you could have walked across on the backs of birds. I saw a few of just about everything in there, it was amazing...and they aren't hunted at all.

This goes down as my absolute worst season so far in my 10 years of waterfowl hunting. All you young guys (I'm only 25 but) on here, hunt as much as you possibly can before working your life away! I hunted a total of 4 times this waterfowl season...

Ha I bet! Kids will be coming in the next year or so here too. And you get it being a farmer as well. Working in the AG industry and farming sure takes away a ton of time!

HaHa. I am 41 and daughters are now 14 and 16, kind of feel like time is swinging back in my favor again.

I probably should not have typed that.

I have twin 7 year old daughters who are knee deep in sports. So far I've been able to hunt due to holidays, but starting this week, that's out the window. Thankfully their basketball games aren't until 11:30 at times so that gives me time to hunt before.

I'm way behind you guys. I'm 35 and have a 1-year old son. I'll have a buddy to bring along in my prime.

He can do all the work for you so you can just shoot when you're an old man then!

I was at the club in SEMO today and it's really slow, we shot 3. They shot 22 yesterday but it was a good flight day they hadn't been killing many....but its just my luck one day short.
I talked to a buddy today in northern IA and he said they shot 65 yesterday.....

Starting to see more & more ducks in my area. With the current weather we are having here birds should hold still...

Smctitan... Our opening days should be awesome.

Yea I hunt in Bama. I have a few ponds with mostly wood ducks but also have a boat I hunt a few lakes and rivers.
I've been trying to plan a trip out of state but it never comes together when it's time to go.

Nice! I've never shot one. Then again I don't hunt divers and very rarely hunt water.
