Definitely a different ball game this far North... Season opened early to mid September and all the birds have been gone for a while now for the most part.... 8 puddles and 8 divers daily limits make for some fun shooting though... Just weird hunting in such warm weather!

Yeah warm isn't good here. Cold fronts push a lot of birds down. Of course the days i've been able to hunt have been warmer days, and not that much action. Things should start cooling down outside, and heating up on the barrel though.

50 degrees today and the last few days, turning to a high of 30 Friday on. Finally going to get out this weekend but unfortunately we've gotten a couple inches or rain this week and it's still raining through tomorrow so I'll be hunting water. Saturday is a high of 29 with 10-15 mph NW winds starting off cloudy and turning sunny in the afternoon. Realistically should be a good migration day.
We had a pretty good morning this morning. Between the four of us, we came out with 5 woodies and two mallards. One of which was my first and the second was banded from Ontario, Canada earlier this year. We don't have many mallards on our side of the country so needless to say, we were all pretty excited.
