Thanks guys! It was coming straight at me when I shot and it ended up falling right into the blind I was sitting in, I actually had to dodge it so it didn't hit me
That was the only duck I killed today, here's another shot of it (because who doesnt like pics!)

Shot a mallard drake and a green wing teal this morning! I'll post some pics later.

Awesome man. I'll get a few days in November to whack some ducks but our big duck season doesn't start until dec18th.

Jeez talk about being hooked, this stuff is addicting! My time spent in the deer woods has dwindled significantly (completely ) since I've started waterfowl hunting :busted:

This big mallard I shot came into the decoys perfectly and I hammered him at like 15 yards. A lot of people commented on his size this morning and he's my first mallard/decoyed bird so I think am going to have him mounted. Here are some pics from my hunt.

Sounds like someone has a new sickness! Congrats on the birds! Less than two weeks to go here in OK.

We wound up with 7 mallards and 5 geese for the weekend, all from fields. The ducks were decoying perfectly at first light both days, the geese were a little tricky. They didn't want anything to do with the decoys and we watched every group but 1 land in all directions about 150 yds away.

Thanks! And it seems like you guys open so late, are a lot of states like that? We opened Oct 10 and run until Dec 6. I'm going to get out as much as possible until then. Also going to try and find a place to kill some canadas for our late goose season in January.

I cant believe its the pre-rut/ rut and I'm going out trying to kill ducks instead  Never in a million years did I expect that.

I never hunted deer until I was 18... Waterfowl hunted since I was 8... So much more fun.

Yeah our season starts later to accommodate the migratory flight of birds. Yours starts earlier since your farther north.. Yada yada...

Still haven't gone out but reports I've been hearing are birds are really starting to move in here in MN.

Some great migration weather these next few days. Too bad it coincides with the best bow hunting days too.

Man that is a beautiful bird! Congrats!
I have my eye on a small group of woodies that hit a pond every morning. Saturday, it's on!
I want to get one for the mantle.

2 more days all!!! The wait is driving me crazy!
We've been scouting and have a ton of fields where geese are feeding. The hunting is great here in Central Indiana, but it's better than not hunting.
Ha, my deer season may be over before it really ever began.

Yessir! Saturday we shot 20 BWT, 3 GWT, and one guy couldn't resist the spoonie that came in. Sunday we had more of a mixed bag with some beautiful wigeons and a very nice looking pintail. It was a blast
