I might have to try this duck hunting thing. Everything to the north is freezing up but the nearby river is open. (it's really a big creek as far as I'm concerned.. but it's open.) I've only ever killed one duck in my life and it was about 27 years ago. LOL

I have no calls, no decoys, no idea... but I have access, a shotgun and a 7 month old Labrador who has never even seen a duck. How hard can it be?? ;)

Got our two limits by 845. Wouldn't trade mornings like this for anything.

I'm hoping to make it out to eastern MD to hunt with a buddy this year around mid-december. Really hope it works out, sounds like an awesome place to duck hunt.

Come to MD, we have plenty of them. Can only shoot one per day per person so you gotta be careful especially this time of year when they are the predominant puddler.

I've never duck hunted out of the state so I can't speak to other areas, but as long as it's cold and we get a good winter, MD can provide some great days.

Yeah, no ducks in OK! And central flyway rules so you get 5 mallards instead of MS flyway 4. But there is no ducks in OK, I keep forgetting....

He's out in Timonium, MD. Need to get a hold of him though, he's a contractor so his schedule changes daily.

^^^At least it wasn't all mallards again. LOL.
Our season opened today. Had fun, which is all that matters, but the kill numbers wasn't what I had hoped. The wind was wrong for spot A and plan B just didn't produce as many birds....which is why it was a plan B. Dog did good and the new blind I built for the boat did good. I took pics of the boat, the kids took the dead duck pics.LOL

Looks good guys. We are still in our first week and I have been hunting beaver ponds to let crowds die down. 60 trucks at a ramp is ridiculous. I did get a first for me Wednesday. Two woodies in one shot.

Looks like a great day anyways. We went again this morning and only got 5 greenheads. Our first split is over on sunday. Looks like we will end the first month with 125 ducks between two and sometimes three of us. It's been a heck of a start.

Awesome last day of the first season for us. Our two limits before 7am. Maybe 10 minutes of shooting.

Even took my little one along.

And a new duck to add to the wall.

Now I have a two week wait and deer hunt before we're at it again.
