Hey fellas, finally got into a tree a little bit this past weekend, no points on the board but had a nice little encounter with a deer that will score big in a couple of years. Kinda glad he wouldn’t cross the fence, keeps the temptations down. IMG_1141.JPG

Should be getting out on Saturday morning with our first cold front hitting us. Hoping for something I can put in the freezer!

I get to sit in a tree tomorrow night. With the cold front coming in they should be moving! Hoping for at least a doe. Good luck this weekend everyone!

Sorry I haven’t been on here much guys. I’m out trying though. I’ve sat the last 2 days hoping with the cold front for movement but it’s been slow. I’ve only saw 2 does and neither were close. But hopefully tonight I’ll get a doe if not I’ll be out tomorrow also.

Quick update from Michigan, cold front had bucks on there feet here. Last night a harvested another doe in the corn. Good tracking experience for the pup! Bad news is I have had the two best bucks I have on camera in bow range and decided not to shoot either of them. both are beautiful deer but neither got me excited enough to shoot, so I passed! Hoping something shows up the next few weeks as rut starts to come in! Good luck to all you guys getting out to your stands this weekend, shoot straight and enjoy the creation! Second pic is GPS of the track last night. Trailing wounded game with the dog is a riot! Almost as fun as shooting them! Almost! IMG_20181012_205527590.jpg Screenshot_20181012-224424.png

Bavarian Mountain hound, they come from Germany/czechoslovakia, breed was developed exclusively for tracking wounded deer and boar. Sarge is 9 months old, this fall is all about getting him trained up and ready for a lifetime of making hunters days! plus he is an amazing family dog!

That’s cool tracking dogs are illegal in Minnesota. I wish that’s a law that would change.

I sure am, I haven’t been able to get out since the opening week, work has been pretty crazy these last few weeks. I need some cold weather to shut these jobsites down!

Going out tomorrow, gonna try and be out all day. Saturday is the last day of muzzleloader season and I’m trying to get a doe in the freezer quick.
Fear not though, I’ve got a buck & doe tag reserved for archery. Hope to get some points on the board soon!

Got a doe last night. The deer sure were moving yesterday here in Pennsylvania. I was hunting from the ground and she gave me an 18 yard shot. I got a double lung hit and she only made it 50 yards. I had my son on his first track job and he had a blast! 20181019_070308.jpg

I don't wanna get too excited fellas, but I just saw a post on bowhunting.com's facebook page and it looks an awful lot like the monster that Tim Ainsworth has been chasing. If it's him team six just made a huge jump in the points standing, Tim?? Was it you buddy? Just wink if it's you!

Last night my son got his first archery deer. He shot her at 26 yds with his compound bow. Hit was a touch back. We gave her time and then put the dog on her. The rain had washed the blood away. 200 yds later Sarge had us on her. I shot my first bow deer 24 years ago the same day! Exciting time for our home! Been out and seen deer each of my last six sits, but nothing in range yet. Saw a young buck yesterday with his nose to the ground. That means prerut is here. Will get out a few times next week and hoping to help us put some points on the board.
