I have found some doe bedding in a few different spots. Hoping to find a morning to hunt and put one down for the freezer.
Good luck! Opening morning is this saturday for me, it looks like the temps are gonna drop to mid 60s as a high. Which is great since we have had high 70s and 80s for the last two weeks. Super Excited!
All I have to do is get through the weekend guys and come Monday afternoon, I will transform into a tree ninja! It will be my most favorite Monday in recent memory for sure.
On my first sit here in Maine. I apologize for not being very active in the thread, I have been keeping my online presence to a minimum. Trying to lay low. Hunting where I am it’s one and done, so if I shoot a doe I am tagged out the rest of the year. I have done zero scouting, didn’t even take my stand down last year so I just jumped right into it. Good luck everyone else. Just a month until I have a full week bowhunt in kansas
Hey guys quick update from the youth hunt and early antlerless. I didn't harvest a doe, but was fortunate enough to get a crack at a coyote. 47 yds squeacked him with my mouth to stop him, heart shot emm! Pretty cool. My son shot a nice 8 point we had some history with. Here are some pictures. Season opener for realz is tomorrow so can't wait. I have a bavarian mountain hound I have been training to track, he found my son's buck and I plan to try and shoot a ol slick head tomorrow to get him another one! Good luck guys!
Awesome! Congratulations to your son! Is that his first buck? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Wow, huge body on that guy! Looks like you got a good amount of venison out of that. Congrats to your son and to you on taking out a yote!
Would have had a doe on Saturday if I had stayed in my stand a bit longer. I got out after 10am as I wanted to scout out this location I am in a bit more. Came back to my stand which I had left by my tree and a little after 11am, there were four does right there... Just goes to show that even in the hot temps, deer are moving and coming in to bed late.
Had a great first night in tree! Saw plenty of deer and passed two nice bucks. One was around a 110 in 8 pt, other was a 2.5 yr old 4 pt wierdo buck.Looking for a good one, if it's not raining in the morning I will be out after a doe.
Had a nice first sit as well, had a few deer come by, just well out of bowrange. I used to have deer in this spot 24/7, but that just doesn’t seem to be the case this year. The apple trees I am sitting in aren’t productive this year though. Last year I had 6 or 7 that all had fruit. This year only one has any and it’s 50 yards away. I’m contemplating moving my stand, I just don’t know where to yet. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well guys I got UA on the board tonight, doe down! Dog did an amazing job tracking her. Boys were along for the ride and loving every minute of it! Will get pictures in score sheet sometime this week!
Congrats Andrew, way to draw "first blood" for team watch your 6! Good looking doe and a great shot! On a more important note, way to include your kiddos in the process, there's nothing like sharing our favorite moments with those we love the most! Good on ya my friend!
thanks guys she went about 100-120 yards. I figure it like this. If I take them while they are young, they will take me when I am old!
Today it is 74, tomorrow morning it’s gonna be 46! I’m going to be begging and pleading to get out of work tomorrow morning! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
