Well guys, with 4 days left of bow season and zero shooters on camera I didn't have high hopes. Then this guy from who no where's decided to chase a doe right by me!
Well nothing doing for me. Today was the last day and I will not be going out tonight. I am now fully focused on setting up for the late season, its about 6 weeks away. I should have enough time to scout and move treestands where I want. I stumbled across a pretty heavily used deer trail while hunting this last week. I have deer moving through daily, only problem is its in the middle of a goldenrod field. there are few trees to hang a stand. I might have to set up a makeshift ground blind. This years rifle season will have to double as a late scouting session.
Well fellas, it’s not going to score big, but I’m not the kinda guy to get hung up on that. He’s a cool deer with double split brows and I put a damn good shot on him at 43 yards. Won’t win us the contest but I’m one happy fella since it’s only the second deer I’ve had in range all year! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ruff scored my deer at 147” will get a more accurate score once I get it back from getting euro mounted!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Wow, that's huge for where I hunt! Congrats on an awesome buck, still hoping I can contribute something this year. Keep having close calls but still have not gotten a shot off.
Looks like we will have quite a few deer on the board when the last few buck get submitted on the official thread. Dont forget to enter them guys. Congrats to everyone!! Keep at it! Good luck to all still with tags!
I will be out with the bow this Monday. It’s first day of rifle, so if you guys don’t hear back from me I probably got shot lol! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Anybody still bow hunting? I have seen a lot of chasing this week. looks like those early girls that didn't get bred are swingin back into estrous. If you guys get the chance this weekend inside the thick brush on the downwind side of food sources should be great in evenings! Good luck to anyone out there still trying to fling arrows!
