Another question for fun… as the kills are lacking here …

You just shot a deer and are confident you made a great shot.

Would you rather watch it go down after 60 yards or find it after a good 60 yard blood trail? What is more exciting to you?

My thoughts… I’d rather see it go down but the blood trail scenario is more exciting

It's ALWAYS more comforting to watch it fall.
BUT who doesn't like a good blood trail

Watch em drop in sight any day. If I want to tromp through the woods looking down, I'd be a damn geologist or fungus aficionado or some ****.

I would always like to see it drop. Almost every time I shoot a deer , I go straight to the last place I saw it. I don't even follow the blood. If I cant find it just by looking, then I will pick up the blood trail. Much prefer to spot it over blood trailing.

I LOVE following blood trails as long as the prize is found at the end of it

I love following OTHER hunter's blood trails.
My own, not so much. Prefer DRT every time. I think the last time I recovered my own deer that didn't die within sight or at least hearing the death roar/moan was pre-2010.

Exception being an elk I shot in 2014 that I KNEW I heart shot that barely bled at all...luckily she ran in a straight line down the mountain and crushed every little pine along the way. Piling up 40 yards from the quad was a bonus.

I would rather watch them go down in sight. Watching them go down intensifies the adrenaline rush to the max.

There is nothing better as a bowhunter than watching them go down in sight.

To be honest, I've never had one go down in sight. I've had them die less than 40 yards from where I've shot them, but due to it being thick, I've never been able to watch them drop. I LOVE tracking and everything about it. Like @snuff said, to me it is another huge adrenaline rush when you see that white belly up ahead. It truly reminds me of being a kid on Christmas morning walking up to the tree, but the tree is the deer.

Would rather watch them drop in sight. Takes all the what if's out of the equation.

One of my fondest hunting memories was my dad tracking the infamous butt shot buck. The blood trail was insane once we found it. My dad got so excited he took the lead like a little kid and found the deer. After he pointed and said, "THERE HE IS" he said.."Oh, I should have let you track it." I laughed and said no way, this was so much better!
