Well it looks like some warm weather along with a boat load of rain is headed to the midwest. How much will weather in the 60s and rain affect the first part of the rut?

The deer will probably all migrate to Mass where it is cooler

When's the last time a hot august day or a drenching downpour put you out of the mood? Yeah, the deer aren't any different, especially when they only get it a few weeks out of the year

Hunt, kill and toss the weather out the window

I imagine these first few days of November aren't going to be off the charts great, but you'll still have deer on their feet during daylight which means they'll be killable. That's all that really matters.

Now once that front moves through towards the end of next week.....then it could get good. :tu:

I am seeing mature bucks chasing from the road all ready. I would be hunting every chance you get.

I would think it would shift much of the activity to night.

If I have time to hunt, Im hunting. Ive sat in a tree all day long in freezing temps and not seen deer. Ive also sat for only 5 minutes and killed a good buck at mid day with 75 degree temps. Screw it.

Yep, everyone's worst day in November is someone elses best day ever. You just have to be in the right spot at the right time, more importantly you just have to be out there somewhere.

I've never been able to put a buck.in the truck and go back to hunting. It has ALWAYS been too warm, mad rush to track it, gut it, drag it, haul it and process it. I also always forget to peel off layers before I go recover it and instantly overheat when it's too late to turn back

When's your second IL tag hunt planned for? Holding it back for a certain buck or riding the lightning bolt you're on?
