My family wants to move. I'm basically wanting to find a place where I can do grain hauling and be home every night since I already have my own semi and trailer. Is anyone on the inside of an elevator company that could hire me to do local transfers? I would be open to try something else that would provide for a growing family of 4.

    I know it's a long shot..anybody know of anything?

whatever you do don't move to Illinois. Cost of living here is about 30% higher than KY and 25% more than IN. You being from ND you'll probably get sticker shock here and die.

Don't move to NY. Cost of living here is like 150% higher than any other state. Lol. They tax everything insane. But the retirement plans are unreal. I'll be moving when I retire.

I'm sure you could find work here in Iowa. Cost of living is cheap and it's not a terrible place to live. The hunting sucks tho... lol

i miss living out in ND, wish i had a good paying job when I lived out there to afford the driving to different hunting opportunities; north central would a great place, prairie pothole region for ducks, bowhunting opportunities are unlimited with great deer quality too, the fishing is underrated, etc. but if want to move and want to base it on whitetail hunting, I would look to IA , I would think you would have plenty of grain hauling opportunities
